I hate to offend any one but I gotta agree with delenadarti. For me personally the rain scene just showed a really bad side of Brooke. Like really, she was okay with Lucas insulting Peyton just so she can feel better? and then I do think the only reason Lucas said all that stuff wasn't exactly to shut Brooke up but to calm her down and get her off his back:/ My opinion. It's always how I saw the scene, but I can understand why BL fans like the rain scene...

Not to say that Lucas didn't really mean all those things that he said, because I'm sure he did. But WHY did he say them? It's clear that the only reason he said any part of that speech, was because Brooke asked him to. The whole point is that Brooke should have already known all those things. He had never taken the time to say any of those things before, or reassure her of those things on his own. And he probably never would have said them at all, if Brooke didn't specifically ask him to.

That's my whole frustration with that scene. Yes, Lucas delivered a flawless speech. But what good does that do... if someone feels like they have to drag all of those nice comments out of you, in order to feel good about themselves, and the state of your relationship? Brooke shouldn't have had to ask him to say those things in the first place. Let alone the part where she specifically asks him to say bad things about Peyton. That's just down right pitiful lol. Sorry, but it is.
