After reading link article, my opinion of Mark, and the chip that he has on his shoulder towards Chad & Hilarie has officially been confirmed. I just don't care for his attitude throughout that article one bit, and I think it's pretty obvious that he's been purposely screwing LP over. Or atleast, not caring about making the effort to give their characters the acknowledgement that they deserve.
Claiming that "Chad was on his best behavior" while on set really just proves that there WERE hard feelings between them when they left, and that Mark expected an awkward, tension-filled return from Chad. And Chad has been saying for quite some time now that his return is for the fans, nothing more. As if he wasn't doing it for Mark or something, but only for us. To me, it just feels like the bad blood between them is finally coming to light, and all of the LP mis-doings in the show these days are finally making sense.
And the fact that Peyton apparently is hardly mentioned during Lucas' return is just bullshit. It's like Mark thought to himself "Well Hilarie, you turned down your appearance, so you missed your chance at being acknowledged"... which is absurd. Physically there or not, there is NO reason why Peyton shouldn't get the same acknowledgement as Lucas for one episode of the final season. If Mark really respected Hilarie's reason for not returning, as he claims he did, then the least he could do is still manage to give her character some kind of closure for the fans. But it sounds like he's not even willing to do that. Just plain childish.
And then ofcourse I'm also choosing this answer, because the Chilarie/Leyton drama has been evident in not only LP, but in many other ways as well. It's effected Breyton (which we all know), and it's also effected Laley too. Lucas supposedly didn't respond to Haley's letters from season 8? WTF? Lucas didn't return for the death of Haley's mother, or even reach out to her for it? WTF? Brooke supposedly being Haley's new BFF, instead of Lucas? WTF?
So I dunno, I just think the writing, and aftermath of Chad & Hilarie leaving was much more significant, and malicious than Chophia's split... which has only been suspected (not really proven) of causing the occassional jab against BL along the way.
to me, it all just comes down to the fact that yes, there have been times when brucas seemed to have gotten the short end of the stick. whether it be by lack of mention, being overshadowed by brulian, or whatever. but the real question that i think still remains unanswered is...is the chophia drama really to blame for that? or is that just the direction that the show has decided to take over the years? couples move on, and get forgotten about after they break up. especially couples that happened back in high school, when the characters are now full grown adults. so in my opinion, theres nothing that says brucas' "disrespect" is caused by chophia's split. it could also just as easily be from the show just evolving into a new chapter. we've actually seen nothing but DENIAL from the cast and crew, regarding the chophia rumors..
but with the leyton stuff, i really just dont think there's any other explination for it, other than mark/chilarie conflicts. we have more than enough proof of just how messy chilarie's exit from the show seemed to be, and the tension that was left behind because of it. and i dont think it could be more obvious how much it has (as intended by mark) effected the show, and the characters.
Besides everything Mark says and everything Chilarie say seem to clash and contradict each other.
But then again, who the hell knows whats really going on? Everyone's going to make assumptions and who knows at the end we could all be wrong.
No wonder Sophia is Mark's new favorite person ever. (It definitely used to be Hilarie)
Unfortunately. And it's just one of many that keep surfacing lately.
And I think that the rough parts in BL's relationship in season 3 was just because they just weren't right for each other.
But like Kelly said, the bad blood between Mark & Chilarie has been hinted throughout the show and is starting to show even more as the show winds down.
S4-7 & some random comments over the past year and a half from Sophia, I'd say the bad blood between Chophia was worse.
S7-now Bad blood between Mark/Chilarie is worse.
