well of course, he was the ring bearer! i think all of the hobbits changed a lot, you see them in the beginning of the fellowship, dancing on the tables, then at the end of the return of the king all quiet. plus you see them more before the journey so you have more of a feeling of what they're like.

Sam was kinda of a shy hobbit and wasnt really brave,after the long long journey he changed alot

I think all of them definitely changed over time - war tends to do that to people. I just think Frodo changed the most.

I've always admired Merry's character development. He went from a hobbit who never really took anything seriously and played around a lot to a hobbit willing to lay down his life for Rohan (and almost lost it) and became a serious leader. I truly loved his development and find it to be the most radical and interesting. I could seriously write a paper on it! =)

He was so happy at the beginning in the shire..... after the journey he was all... Different.

merry cos before he was a little troublemaking prankster! then he turned all serious and brave during the war of the ring.

Aragorn was a lone ranger, now he's a hero!
