Does he appeal to te in ways a guy who's "simply a friend" can't? If so, go for it, hun. If you're più uncertain than in love, then don't go for it until te think it's the right time.

I've had the same problem with a guy too. We were Friends for quite some time and had a lot of fun. Then one night on a party I was flirting with his best friend, and he was flirting back. Later that evening I heard that my friend asked his best friend not to baciare me that evening. I immediately knew why. My Friends told me to ignore him, but I went to talk to him. I was very honest with him. I told him he was a great guy and I knew he'd find someone, but I just didn't like him that way. I could tell he didn't really like it, but later he told me that he really appreciated my honesty. Of course I left his best friend alone for the rest of the evening, I didn't want to upset him even more. A few weeks later he told me he was ok with me and his best friend going out, so we did for a while.

No matter what te do, he's not going to like it. It sucks, but it's true. The only thing te can do to help him is to be completely honest with him. It will probably be hard on him for a while, but he'll get over it. Don't go on making him believe te feel the same, that will only hurt him more.
