How do te cope with your parents not liking MJ?

I really don't care what's my parents's opinion about me loving Michael. If I Amore him , then that is the most important and well they are actually used to it already , if my dad would be like that I'd be hiding magazines and stuff somewhere and read them secretly ! I really wouldn't let him control me , I mean sometimes when my parents get angry they mention MJ but I think like ''Whatever.'' but te know luckily they Leave me alone ! & I Amore him NO MATTER WHAT ! ♥

My family tried to reel me in too, but after a while they just got used to it and don't really complain about it too much anymore. My sister now even enjoys (although I don't think she'd admit it) looking through all the new pictures I print and even my Dad tells me when he hears stories about Michael on the news regarding the upcoming trial. In all reality, I know they think my obsession with is bizarre, but for the most part they just let me be.

i just keep listening to his Musica and collecting mj things, no matter what my family says. Its to the point that they dont even care anymore.My dad even told me one time, "If thats what te like then i aint going to stop you." For me it kinda sucks being in a family that pretty much doesnt like mj with the exception of my mom, my aunt sherry and my aunt lisa.


I only wish that those in my family would take the time to do their reserch on mj and find out the truth...instead of believing the lies about him sprend da the media and that stupid and greedy Dr. Evein chandler.... :(

Before my dad passed everything was fine, he first introduced me to Michael and since then I’ve fallen in Amore with who Michael was and still is and not even thought about all the horrible “hate” o “dislikes” that have been detto around these past 50 odd years.
I have no further contact with my step-dad o my mother, but they honestly disliked Michael. They didn’t really care to know Mike. He was a misunderstood and a rare person, people couldn’t really understand him, because they thought it was too good to be true. Then they had to ruin it for the people who did understand and hurt him.

I HATED it when they called him a child molester! He was no such thing. He was a genius, so smart and loving.
My mom called him a “paedophile” right in front of my face, and laughed at me, for looking up to a “despicable” sort of person. “He is a disgrace to human kind” I remember hearing.
However, we all know the truth. None of this is true. The amount of people who have been caught on sex-tapes and naked foto on the internet and no-one called them; “sick” o “paedophiles”, do they?


He was a complete gentleman. te just have to be true to yourself and try to put them right, some people won’t have it when te tell the truth about the situation. te can’t help that though. Personally, I don’t think that Michael got the respect that he deserves, but the worlds getting there..slowly.

i don't have to deal with it because my parents actually like him.

I remember I fell in Amore with his Musica once più after the school dance. I remembered some of his songs and looked them up. The successivo giorno I went to school a full-blown MJ fan. I was very open about it too. I wasnt afraid to mostra it. People made fun of me all day. Though it hurt when they insulted him like they were insulting me. I couldnt understand why someone would hate him so much. That evening before I went out to dinner, I looked up his history and discovered the pedaphile stuff but I refused to believe it. That night at cena I confronted my mother. I detto "Mother, I know about the accusations of 1993 and 2005. Its not true, I assure you. He's innocent, believe me! Thats why te and dad tried to stop me from loving him. te thought people would hate me for it!". My mother confressed that night that she didnt want people to give me a bad first impression. In the comunity I was living in, everyone was rich, stubborn, and only cared about what other people thought. I stood out from all them. I was who I was and not who they wanted me to be. I wore jeans and sweat-shirts while everyone else wore formal dresses and dress shirts. My parents were constantly saying how I should stay quiet about him and, just to get them mad, I would at that moment start chirping about how great MJ was. My defiance made me reckless. My mother made me start to cry very hard on Easter da saying loving him wasnt healthy. I started crying and screeched at her "Do te think this is easy for me?! On what planet!? It was my dream to meet this man for my whole life. And now he is gone. It is hard to get through!". My mother never understood me and I dont think she ever will. I know I am not the daughter she wants. I'm not perfect and I dont bother to act like I am like her. I know there are times when she looks at me and wishes I was never born. She makes it obvious. She wont accept who I am and will do whatever nessasary to change me, to mold me into the person she wants me to be. I ignore them. It works best for me.

my parents are fine with that they shouldn't band te from watching Michael Jackson because that's te and if te Amore Michael Jackson well,YOU JUST Amore HIM! so my parents don't care. R.I.P. Michael

...my parents dont like him either (but my mom grew up on his music) and told me to take a break from him...SOO I still coninued and not all parents are gonna like it and i realized that it really isnt healthy to be obssesed over a person...so im with your parents on that one, lol

My parents like him. And they don't care who I like. (Unless it's Barney, mom would go crazy) But if they hated him, I don't know. Tell your dad I detto this. "You problay obess over a person te jerk."

My family(everyone) loves MJ.

I guess I'm kinda lucky because my Mom is a MJ fan. HOWEVER, she doesn't quite understand my OBSESSION with MJ. And NOW she has recently discovered that I Amore fanpop too. I think my mother is used to and accepts what I call, my MJJ Syndrome. However, my Dad is another story, he tries to be kind and even has nice things to say about MJ, sometimes. But it was a struggle because he doesn't quite "get" MJ and used to make jokes about MJ. But he knows I TOTALLY do get MJ and I will defend MJ EVEN to him. But I try to teach my parents about MJ as much as I can. My Dad is learning things about MJ that he NEVER knew before. I'll make a fan out him yet!!! JK!!! But my Dad doesn't completely understand but he tries to respect my LOVE. Thank God my parents haven't committed me.... yet!!! XD

MY mom doesnt relly complain about it that much my dad doesnt relly see me becuz he live in connecticut my step dad sometimes get me mad tho becuz sometimes he say when u give a break only sometimes. I dont even know if my dad like MJ

well, I go through a bit of pain.. as mostly everybody loves MJ!
But I have to accept it .. :'(
My mum disapproves that I have posters of him on my wall..
she even threw a sketch pad of my MJ drawings.. but she told me that she thought it was too old, she didnt look inside apparently .. I cried on that day.. and I noticed that it was no più here on June 24th! :''(

my mom and dad dont like him eather, my mom likes his music, my dad likes his Musica 2 a little but he doesnt really like him as a person, IT REALLY SUCKS!!!!

I ignore them..I still have his pics, songs..I still sing his songs..I just don't talk much about him when they're around.

My parents are getting used to hearing mj's songs coming out of my room, seeing me looking at his videos, Leggere about him in the begging i knew they thought it was something i would grow out of well it was a disappointing for them when it kept coming and then my 19 anno old brother says he hates Michael and hes a child molester but my cousins and the there family went to Disneyland my brother went straight to tommorowland and came out Canto we are here to change the world and he sings bad then we come home what he does takes a doccia what song does he put black o white when he came out a teased him about it. that's him in the pic the man who says he hates mj when he really does

My parents hate Michael. My dad isn’t as bad anymore and is used to me listening to mj and talking about him but my mum goes ballistic and calls him a weirdo and a freak and she gets so mad at me when I wear mj merch

I'm honestly a little bit mean to my dad about it. I have, on occasion, blasted Michael's Musica right in my dad's face and it has caused countless arguments between us. Recently, though, I've been a bit nicer about it and just retreat into my MJ bubble when the world sucks without mentioning it too much to my dad. But no matter how much we disagree on music, I will always Amore my dad.
