Producer opens up about record-breaking collaboration with the late singer


Quincy Jones has talked about his time working with Michael Jackson, saying they came together da accident.

In an interview with Billboard to mark his 80th birthday and forthcoming induction to the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame, the celebrated producer, who worked with Jackson on his albums 'Off The Wall', 'Thriller' and 'Bad', says he met the fledgling solo artist while making 1978 'Wizard Of Oz' adaptation 'The Wiz'. Jackson initially asked Jones if he'd help him find a producer.

Michael and Frank were in their limo on the way back to the suite after another very long day. Michael looked out the window admiring the grand sights of New York City. He has been here numerous times but never truly got to experince walking along the streets hearing the taxi cabs honking, seeing the people going and coming, and smelling the pretzels da the strada, via vendor's selling their goods. The only things he got to see and hear was behind a bullet proof glass. As the limo stopped at a red light Michael smiled seeing a father and his two little children, all three smiling and laughing together....

February 1, 1997,



My baby brother Prince is due any giorno now and the anticipation is driving dad crazy! He’s still shopping for some più supplies because he’s been so busy performing shows; he has not had time to. I don’t think he means to forget about me but, lately he does. Sometimes it’s good for me though, because I’m becoming più independent! Michael:It's hard to take step da step, but the snapshots in my mind from the birth mostra our nervousness and excitement. Debbie was so strong throughout the delivery. There were shouts of joy when the baby was born. I couldn't believe the miracle i had witnessed. It was unbelievable!
