Your opinion on EDM?

I've heard a lot of controversy about EDM lately, it seems people either hate it, Amore it o have no idea what it is. What's your opinion on it and why?

PS. This is my opinion. Hmm, where to start? Well I think EDM is good at the right time and place. Like a lot of people, I sorta consider it as 'no substance' Musica without much talent needed to produce it. But if you're at a party o disco, EDM is a great this to have playing because it's easy to dance (or rave) to.

A lot of people like it, a lot of people hate it. To be honest I have no clue. What I know is, it's not very good quality music, and it isn't my first choice to listen to. There so many other good, talented musicians and artists who try with real instruments and voices that are a lot better.

I think it's kind of sad to see when people state that it doesn't take any talent to produce because it kind of does. Depending on the style of electronic Musica te still get deep meaningful lyrics. And not all of the artists use auto-tune either. Emma Hewitt is a trance singer and her voice is absolutely wonderful, without auto-tune. She's done various acoustic performances without it.
It also takes some talent (I would imagine) to come up with the creative Musica videos, particularly in Witch House.
And a lot of the EDM DJ's te gotta know how to work all of the equipment and such.

Talent in EDM simply comes in a different from and it kind of disappoints me when people say 'omg EDM isn't real music, because it is. And it's an amazing style.

It disapoints me too!! Unless their opinion against edm is used correctly, and not being treated like a fact!!

Ever since 9th grade I started picking edm over hip-hop and rap! A lot of people I know HATE IT!! Most of them are black, but don't worry I'm black too! Then in 10th grade I picked this type of Musica over everything! I received a lot insulting bullshit when I started liking edm. People tried to shame back into rap but it don't work! After a while no one gave a shit.
