things wafting through her nose. She jumps up in panic, but before she runs out her door, she stops.

tear. Her pelliccia pricks up from her goose-bumps and she slowly backs away from the door.

alerts her: the house is on fire.

She flinches to the sound of his harsh tone, and quickly gets up to get dressed. She knows for certain her daddy got
real drunk last night, because all of the signs in his voice. The hiccups, the sputtering, the overly loud tone... It made
her feel sick inside. Her curled hair lightened a little as she opens her curtains, hardly a dint of sun coming from the
cloudy sky.
"I detto HURRY UP te LAZY SHIT! IF te DON'T GET DOWN HERE IN TWO MINUTES, I'M COMING UP THERE
AND BEATING te DOWN!"
She flinches yet again, and quickly levitates the saddle-bag onto her back. She mutters and she gets goose-bumps
again from the thought of her getting beat up. She looks into her shattered mirror to see her horrifying reflection.
A scar lined across her pinkish face. She was bleeding again on her leg. It wasn't too bad, but she looks back to see
her letto is stained from blood. Her face is as pale as a ghost and she quickly bandages her leg.
"YOU LAZY SHIT! ITS BEEN TWO MINUTES, I'M COMING UP THERE!"
She begins to cry as she hears the pounding of his hooves on the staircase. Her head spins madly, and she stumbles
around, falling onto the wooden floor.

His hoof pounds on the door for a moment, and then he opens it madly. She covers her head with her hooves as he
pulls her up. Her looks at her with her saddle-bag on, and bandaged leg. Her looks again, and then pounds his hoof
into her face, and then throws her out the door,
"GET TO SCHOOL NOW! NOW te LITTLE SHIT!"
She quickly scampers out the door, and then falls onto the wet pavement. She was hungry. She hadn't eaten in
days, and she vomits up all she has from her tiny stomach, and quickly devours it again. Her dad always got Cibo
from the bar for himself, but he never works, and never goes to the market to get her some dinner.
She notices Blueblood across the strada, via and he waves to her. Her, a no-name to her daddy, but to Blueblood, she
was Cadence.
"Hey Cadence! te okay? te look terrible!"
She shakes her head and she quickly scampers across the street, her black-and-blue eye swolen shut.
"Oh dear Celestia..here, come inside! My daddy will excuse us from school today to help you."
She follows him into his mansion and she thanks Celestia over and over that she has Blueblood as a friend. But he
wasn't just a friend. He was like her brother.
He knocks 5 times on the door, and his butler opens the door. He gasps to see the state Cadence is in and quickly
pulls her inside. The lead her up to the bathroom where she gets cleaned and they carefully take off all her
bandages. She whines, but then enjoys the feeling of water cleaning her cuts, scrapes, bites, and scars. They
especially clean her swolen eye, and make sure it heals up correctly.
"I...I cwanot twhank tasso, yew enewugh feur fthis..."
She says through a numb tounge.
"I cannot believe your father beats te down so much...why?"
"Its bwechause wever shcnince mwha mwother dwied.."
"Oh, well, thats no reason to beat te down, besides your a special pony."

The maids help the poor little puledro out of the tub and into the guest room. They put her in the letto and Blueblood
trots in. He comes up to her and hugs her tightly and tells her she should not worry about her abusive daddy any
longer.
Soon enough, the butler comes up with a plate full of delicious treats. Salad, arancia, arancio Juice, mela, apple Cider,
Sandwiches, Fruits, Veggies...
She quickly devours all the food, making her feel like the Cibo could last her a year. She thanks them repeatedly
and they leave her with Blueblood to rest up. He cuddles her in letto and she enjoys his warmth.
He was like her brother.

She wakes up and feels like its been months. And it has been months.
Blueblood is no longer da her side, cuddling her in her long-lasting sleep. The mansion is still in good shape. She
quietly trots down stairs to find him sitting there, all alone, a puddle of tears underneath him.

He turns to look at her, his eyes red from so much crying. He trots up to her and hugs her as hard as he can. He
cries out loudly.
"My father d-d-died..." He stutters.
"T-then we will go and find a new home.." She says. He looks at her with bloodshot eyes and nods.
They take everything from the house to travel with. They lived in Manehatten, but they knew for sure they could
reach Canterlot. They walked miles and miles, asking ponies for money and saying that once they got rich, they
would come back and pay them.
Soon, they had reached Canterlot. Cadence and Blueblood were older now, but not old enough to be considered a
Mare and a Stallion.
The city of Canterlot was full of regal ponies from far and wide. While Cadence stayed there, she never thought of
her abusive dad, nor did she want to see him ever again.
One day, they visited the Castle, where they met Princess Celestia and Princess Luna. The two sisters were shocked
to see what state they were in. So they took them both under their care, and adopted them and considered them
their niece, and nephew.

One lucky day, Princess Cadence met the wonderful Shining Armor, brother of her aunt Tia's faithful student,
Twilight Sparkle. He asked her how she got to be Tia's niece. Cadence looked up at the castello towers to see Prince
Blueblood staring down at her with a smile. She smiles and looks at Shining Armor.
"I would say I was lucky, but I'm not. I'm thankful to have a brother who helped me get here."
