After recently splitting from his long term girlfriend Francesca Thomas, Olly Murs has opened up about how having a load of girl fans caused troubles for the couple and how it can make dating quite challenging for him.

While you might have thought that having juggling being a presenter on

with his music career would have had the most to do with the pair breaking up after three years together, Olly\'s revealed in new book

that there were other big factors that led to their split.

"A lot of my fans are girls, so it can cause problems, obviously. Sometimes I\'ll ask Francesca to stay in the people carrier when a crowd comes around," he writes.

"From her perspective she\'s thinking, \'Why am I a secret? Why are you putting me in a car?\' And I say, \'You can come and stand with me if you want,\' but if someone comes up and asks for a picture and says, \'Olly I really fancy you, you should dump your girlfriend. You should get rid of her and go out with me.\' It\'s not nice."
