what do te think of this theory on whale's counterpart?

i'm thinking that since its pretty clear his counterpart is some kind of scientist which doesnt make a lot of sense to me since electricity wasnt around in fairytale land unless it was actually magic. i think towards the end, whale's counterpart is the victim of an experiment gone wrong and he accidently is turned into the balena from pinnocho. either that o he's turned into the balena da punishment. i hope this is a good theory
