I know this is late but I've been really busy this week and I wanted to get it in before the new episode.
Before I start I'm going to make a perdition. I predict that the first part of this articolo will be very popolare the secondo part not so much.
Part One: Arielle
I Amore Belle and Ariel together! Now I wasn't as in to Arial when she was first introduced as everybody else seemed to be. All the talk about how funny and gorgeous and perfect she was just didn't make any sense to me. She was cute but not all that exceptionally pretty and not all that exceptionally funny (and this coming from someone that has a weak spot for all things spunky and redheaded).
However when she walked around that corner wearing Belle's closes my jaw dropped. In modern clothes Jo is the spitting image of Amy Adams, someone I consider one of the most beautiful woman alive today. They could be sisters!
She is also simply adorable in this episode and the definition of spunky.
Ariel: "why are we doing what they tell us to do"
Belle: "because they have a gun"
This made me laugh so hard. She is so clueless.
And what about Team Arielle? Well... Wow! I Amore Belle but since I'm not a huge fan of Rumbelle I forget how much I Amore her until those rare occasions when she gets to interact with other characters.
I baffles me how someone as sweet and kindhearted as Belle seems to have so few friends. Perhaps everyone is just afraid to get too close to the Dark Ones girl for fear that if something happened to her he would blame them. (much like Bea in FTL) The only person that was Ribelle - The Brave enough to truly befriend her so far has been Red. I loved Red even più for this. She has always been able to see people for who they really are. She knows what it's like to be feared unjustly and will be the one to reach out when no one else will. She isn't discriminatory, she offers her friendship to anyone and everyone that will aspect it no domande asked even if that friendship might end badly for her. We see this with Snow and with Belle and with Victor.
After Ruby's character was demoted. I consigned myself to the fact that we wouldn't be getting any Red Beauty anymore. Then Ariel shows up and the chemistry between her and Belle is just as electrifying if they più so then Red and Belle's.
She has never heard of Rumple and does not know to fear him and because of this she sees Belle as herself not as "Rumples Girl". They are perfection and I cant wait too see the antics those two hopeless romantics get up to in Storybrooke in future episodes.
Part Two: The Unpopular One
Thus far I have been enjoying the Amore triangolo between Emma Neal and Hook. I managed to do this da shipping both Swanfire and CS. I began the season leaning towards Swanfire. I still wasn't sure how I felt about Hook. For the first three quarters of season two I had found his character very unsavory and not the lest bit charming but he had recently begun to grow on me. Then in season three the mask was taken off and his crude and crass personality was revealed to be nothing più then a bacheca he had put up to avoid letting people get close to him. Much like Emma and her all work and no fun attitude.
Unfortunately the mask was also taken off Neal this episode mostrare that he has a nasty arrogant streak. I realize this is an unpopular opinion but nearly all of Neal's actions since Emma told him that she wasn't ready to be with him and that she needed to sposta on have left a nasty taste in my mouth.
Immediately after she tells him this he tells her that he "will never stop fighting for her". Dude, she just detto she needed to sposta on! Does he not realize how hard it is to admit that even though te still Amore someone te need to sposta on with your life!?! It takes a lot of will power and it doesn't take much to break down and go back even if te know te need to sposta on. If he really cared about her he would would respect her decision. I know most people see this as an extremely romantic gesture but it makes me sick. An "as te wish", much like what Hook did, would have gone a lot further in proving to me that he actually cared and respected her.
Despite the way I felt about this particular statement I can understand him not just wanting to give up. He after all has his own feelings for Emma and I'm not expecting him to act as if they don't exist. However It just only gets worse in Dark Hollow. Instead of actually doing anything to prove himself worthy of Emma's love. He just takes it for granted and waits for her to come running back to him.
For example Neal is so sure that Emma wants him that he doesn't even consider Hook as a threat. He considered the fact that they shared a baciare inconsequential and disregarded the idea that she could ever have feelings for anyone but him. That sort of unwavering arrogance, being so sure that a woman simply cant resist you, is exactly the thing that turned me off about Hook in season two.
Still the thing that pissed me off the most was when he says "well she has me now". No!!! te cant just mostra up in her life after 11 years and expect her to just take te back. te have to work for it!
The fact that Hook is trying so hard now proves not only that he truly cares for Emma but also that he understands that she won't come to him easily. However he also respects her wishes, for the most part. ("as te wish" <3) For example he isn't pushing her too hard. He is simply making his feeling for her clear and letting her make the decition. After all it is a lady's choice and a gentleman's agreement.
On a più positive note I am so proud as Emma for keeping on track and telling those two squabbling boys what was really important. Henry.
In summery although I started out leaning towards Swanfire I am now toppling on to the the CS side. I saw a lot of chemistry between young Neal and young Emma but I'm not sure if there is any between this Emma and this Neal. The only good reason I see for them to be together at this point is for Henry which as many parents nowadays are discovering is not a good reason to endure an unhappy relationship.
On a related note is this how Rumple treated Millah? If this was the case it puts a whole new light on what Milah did. Perhaps she really did want to be a part of Bea's life but Rumple refused to let his family break apart even when it was already broken.
