Productions Introduces First Intellectual Property: Southern Gothic Productions unveils the first episode of its web series Friendship Union Community Theater Friday, August 21, on the company’s website www.sogopro.com. The official launch time is set for 8 a.m. EST.

Southern Gothic Productions is a company co-owned da actress Hilarie burton (who played Peyton Sawyer on One albero collina for six years), Kelly Tenney, and Nicholas Gray. The web series was penned and directed da Gray and filmed locally in Wilmington.

The backdrop for Friendship Union Community Theater is a community theater in rural Florida. The story revolves around Clarisse Birdsong, played da Rachael Sutton, who returns from New York to run the theater, after the death of her uncle Mel. The episode opens as Clarisse is hosting auditions for an upcoming theater production and hilarity ensues with the eccentric collection of recitazione hopefuls. Clarisse must also deal with her amorous stage manager, Walter, played da Taylor Kowalski. burton makes an appearance at the end of the episode, playing a high school rival of Clarisse who is now the local theater critic.

The web series is the first creative effort of Southern Gothic Productions. The company self-funded the first episode of the web series, and plans to stream it on their website, before offering a downloadable option in the future.

Also in development for Southern Gothic Productions is a short film, a graphic novel and a feature film entitled Pedestrian.
