Interesting question... but I think they definitely still would have won. I think Nathan was just suddenly motivated by the idea of being an inspirational, hard-working, good role model for his child. I think he just wanted to be able to look back on that game, and make his child proud by winning it... whether that child be a boy, or a girl!
I think it didn't matter the gender of baby.It was more about the fact that he know can call that baby a he or a she which makes it more real which in turn makes him want to make his family proud by doing what he does best and that is PLAYING BASKETBALL!
