With Brooke, she knew how Leyton felt about eachother, but pursued luke anyhow and it turned into a tug of war in Dan's house (eppy107). Luke continued to blow her off because he wanted to be with Peyton. Leyton finally had their window of opportunity but Peyton got scared of commitment and walked away. Luke was crushed and thought peyton didn't want to be with him, so he started dating Brooke. with luke: this isn't about season 3, so that doesn't apply to this question. He pursued peyton who was afraid and pushed him away. so he hid with Brooke (he said it himself). Peyton told luke how she felt, but when she saw that he and brooke were officially dating, she backed off. LUKE was the one who then pursued peyton again while he was with brooke. Peyton continued to push him away for Brooke then gave in @ a moment of weakness, but again, she walked away cause she knew it was wrong. Luke AGAIN pursued Peyton and finally convinced her to be with him. Leyton struggled to find the right time and way to tell Brooke & failed with each attempt. Brooke then found out before Leyton was able to tell her. and all Hell broke loose. all in all, LUKE screwed up the most by persisting with Peyton while he was still with Brooke. He shoulda broke it off with Brooke, then pursue peyton if anything. Peyton gave in and screwed up right with him. Brooke screwed up by getting in the way in the very beginning (starting in 1.07), and being dumb enough to think that Leyton suddenly had nothing between them while she was dating luke (when she saw the way they were together all those times)... posted più di un anno fa. last edited più di un anno fa

This spot is getting boring and now that i find a good debate that i've been in before you take it away..LOL! Well i agree with you in everything! I've been in this kind of debate before and i've pretty much have said what you said, so i guess i have nothing, except for one thing, but it's very small part. Ok 1treehillfan said something that i diagree on. When he was with brooke but he apologized a thousand times I pretty much disagree with this. If i can remember luke hardly put any effort in apologizing to brooke. The time he said sorry was only when he bumped into her in the hallway! After that, he pretty much didn't do shit, until brooke said she was pregnant, that's the time he actually did anything! Also was so funny is after he found out he found out that brooke wasn't pregnant he went stright to peyton like nothing happened! Reason being is that it was his own stupid fault the whole thing started. After Peyton turned him down he never should have gone to Brooke in the first place. Sure he thought she'd be fun, but he also knew she was Peyton's best friend, just a bad idea from the beginning. Especially since it was completely clear that he was still totally into Peyton and was just with Brooke cuz Peyton hurt him. So yea I do put most of the blame on Lucas i'd say like 80%. The rest I put between both of the girls, pretty evenly actually. The reason I fault Peyton is because she should have just told Brooke instead of sneaking around. But at the same time I blame Brooke as well because even though Peyton didn't tell her, she knew and by knowing she shouldn't have gone out with Lucas in the first place. But ultimately the fault of cheating falls on the person that did the cheating. No matter what Peyton wanted, or what Peyton did the choice ultimately was that of Lucas. yea supersweet you could look at it that way, but it annoys me because it makes it seem like Lucas had no responsibility for his own actions. Sure Peyton has to take responsibility for her actions too, but Lucas is far from innocent in the whole mess. I understand that Luke convinced himself that Peyton didn't have feelings for him after she blew him off in 1.07, but then after Peyton told him how she felt, he shoulda realized the position he put himself in (between B&P); especially since he clearly still had feelings for Peyton and knew that it musta hurt peyton to see them together. Lucas Luke problem in S1 is recurring in almost all seasons. His indecisivity & going after girls when his heart is broken is typically Lucas. The rebound phase after the break up: [a REBOUND: it’s not love. Your head tricks you into it to protect you from crushing pain YOUR HEART IS PUTTING YOU through] 1. When Peyton ran away from the party [1x07], he decided to hook up with Brooke to protect his heart. Brooke was his rebound. 2. When Peyton’s left Lucas for good [1x15], he went out and had sex with Nikki. 3. After breaking up in LA, Lucas meet Brooke and tried to hookup her again. Again his rebound [5x05] 4. After working on this book, he invited Peyton to his book signing, but seeing Peyton never arrived he went out with Lindsey [5x02] Let’s face it. This guy doesn’t handle heart problems very well. He hides after girls to hide his feelings & protect his heart. Brooke The keyword in this entire situation is MANIPULATION. Brooke knew Peyton had feelings for Lucas & she tried to hook Nathan and Peyton to get her out of the way. ‘Peyton: Get me out of the way so you can embarrass yourself with Lucas’. Despite knowing Peyton’s feelings, she continued to go after Lucas. She served as an obstacle to avoid Leyton hook up too soon in the story. I’m not saying Brooke is a bad person but she is not the saint and victim fans depict IMO. I don't blame her so much because she was just a rebound, could have been any other girl Lucas was looking for to have fun. Bad Timing & Bad Luck. Lucas & Peyton biggest problem is TIMING.
