Lying on the snow-covered ground, injured, I was sure I was going to die. I then saw the owner of the house approaching me. I had seen him in his yard on many occasions, but I never saw him up close until that day. He knelt down beside me. He asked, "What are te doing out here da yourself?" I faintly said, "I got Lost in the blizzard." He noticed the blood-stained pants leg. He said, "You don't look so good. You're pale." He then pulled up my pants leg and saw my leg was badly wounded. He said, "You're badly hurt, too. I better get te to a hospital." He picked me up to carry me to his truck. He asked, "What's your name?" I said, "Ellie." Before he could ask me anything else, I Lost consciousness. I woke up in the hospital. My family was keeping a vigil on me. My mother said, "Ellie, I'm so glad you're okay." My father knelt down beside the hospital letto and said, "Ellie, I'm really sorry. If I had kept my promise to be a better father than my father, this would have never happened." I asked, "What made your break your promise? Was it the alcohol?" He said, "Yes, Ellie. It was the alcohol. I promised to be a better father than my father. He abused me when I was a child. I turned to alcohol after my best friend was killed in a car crash. I blamed myself, because things got ugly between us before he died. To cope, I drank too much, and I took it out on you." I said, "So, it wasn't my fault." He said, "No, Ellie. te didn't ask for any of this. There's nobody to blame at all. I'll tell te what. I'm going to get some help. I'll sober up, and I promise to be a better father." As for me, I had hypothermia, but that got better, and I was released from the hospital. My leg was badly wounded, but the doctor told me that my wounds would heal with time.

I am feeling much better today. I don't feel great, but I feel much better than I did a few days ago. I was able to go to school today. Michael, Sabrina, and Bridget helped me get caught up in my classes. I'm lucky to have such good friends. Of course, I did feel a bit tired after finishing my homework. I took a nap for a while. When I woke up, it was almost 6:00 pm. I didn't realize I had slept that long. When cena time came, I ate really well. I didn't feel like eating much for the past couple of days. My appetite has returned. I think I will go to letto early tonight. I'm feeling pretty tired right now. I'm not completely better, but I'm close to it.

Summer Vacation has been great so far. While I've been enjoying school più since I've gained a couple of friends, it's nice to have a break from it. I also received some exciting news. On July 9, I am going to be in Chicago to see The Devil Wants Peace in concert! I was so excited when my uncle told me he was able to afford the tickets. I later told my friend, Michael, "You should have seen me when my uncle told me the good news. I was jumping up and down, crying tears of joy." Normally, I'm not that excitable, but The Devil Wants Peace is one of my preferito bands. Since I was six, I dreamed of seeing them live, and now, I can stop dreaming. This dream is becoming a reality. I don't know if I'll be lucky enough to meet them, but the fact that I'm lucky enough to see them is great.
