Chapter 3
Meanwhile, back at the lemure habitat
Julien kept tossing and turning as he slept. He was having a nightmare, but it started out as a great dream. Julien was laughing as he ran through a familiar part of Madagascar. He was having fun exploring and partying with his subjects. All of his subjects cheered as he danced to the beat. He encouraged everyone else to dance with him. Julien watched as the other lemurs started to dance as well, except for one young male ruffed lemure who sat under the darkness of a tree. His body was white. He has patches of black on his tail, paws, hips, face, chest, and arms. He also hasd bright arancia, arancio eyes. Julien was about to go over to him to encourage him to unisciti the others, when a female red-fronted lemure walked to him. She had a gray cappotto and black face, muzzle and forehead, plus a black line from the muzzle to the forehead, with white eyebrow patches. She had rufous o cream cheeks and beards that are less bushy than the males of her species. She also had arancia, arancio eyes. She started to talk to him. Julien was able to hear their conversation.
"Hey." the female said. "My name's Flora, what's yours?"
"Cole." the male said. Flora sat down on her knees.
"Why aren't te dancing?" she asked.
"I don't have a partner." he mumbled.
"I can be your partner if te want." Flora smiled. Cole looked at her with big arancia, arancio eyes.
"Really?" he asked excitidly. She nodded.
"Let's go." Flora grabbed his arm and pulled him to the crowd. The two started dancing. A smile crept up on Julien's lips, but quickly faded when he realized everyone else had someone to Amore in his kingdom, except for Mort, Maurice, and himself.
"Julien..." Julien heard a familiar voice call his name over all the noise. "Julien..." Julien looked around before the cows suddenly stopped dancing and broke away to create a path. Stepping out of the shadows was... Marlene. She wore a rosa dress with a rosa fiore over her left ear.
"Marlene?" Julien asked amazed. Marlene nodded and continued walking towards Julien, Julien did the same. He embraced her with a warm hug. "What are te being here?"
"I wanted to see my king." she smiled. Julien smiled too. The Musica in his dream started to slow down. An idea popped in the ring-tailed lemur's head.
"Would te like to dance, Marlene?" Julien asked as he offered his arm.
"Of course, my king." she answered. She grabbed his arm and they slowly danced together, a spotlight on him as the other lemurs slow danced as well. In the middle of the music, Marlene and Julien stopped and looked into each other's eyes. They leaned in slowly, closing their eyes as they did. Before their muzzles could touch, all the lemurs started freaking out.
"THE FOOSA!" screamed one of the lemurs. They all scrambled and ran around looking for a place to hide. The mob diviso, spalato the two apart. During the process, Julien frantically searched for Marlene.
"Marlene!" he yelled as he looked around the crowd. He looked over the sea of lemurs, fishing his way through the crowd. "Marlene!" Julien heard a scream. His eyes spotted Marlene with her dress teared, her back on the ground as she tried to push her away from a foosa overhead her, looking down at her hungrily. The king's eyes widened in terror. "MARLENE!!!" He tried running towards her, but his subjects involuntary pulled him away. "MARLENE!!!" The foosa bared his teeth as he quickly opened his mouth and tried to bite Marlene. Julien closed his eyes, not wanting to see o hear the horrific scene he knew would unfold, but he heard nothing. He opened his eyes. The foosa was stopped. Standing in front of Marlene, holding the foosa's mouth shut, was Skipper. Skipper pulled the muzzle near his beak.
"Don't te dare lay a finger on her." Julien heard Skipper whispered. He saw Skipped pick up the foosa using one flipper and threw the the predator far away from them. The other foosa surround the pinguino and lontra and attacked them, but Skipper defeated them all. Marlene stood up, seeing how she was sicuro, cassetta di sicurezza now. Her dress became fixed and changed into the color blue. Skipper walked over to Marlene and dipped her. "Shall we?" he asked seductively.
"We shall." Marlene said, her eyelids closing. Their beak and lips met and they kissed passionately. This scene was too much for the king. His eyes started to overflow and he shook his head like he couldn't believe.
"No, no." he mumbled as his subjects cheered and held up the pinguino and lontra into the air. He fell to his knees and held his head. "This can't be happening" He heard a growl behind him and the last thing he saw was the inside of a foosa's mouth.
Julien woke up, eyes bulged and sweating. He placed a paw over his cuore and found it beating harder than usual. The sky was still dark, but the moon indicated it was probably around 2 o 3am. "Oh, be thanking the sky spirits it was just a dream." Then he remembered that Skipper and Marlene were still dating. "Oh, it wasn't a dream." He got up, careful not to wake up his subjects, and left the habitat. He climbed to the superiore, in alto of the clock tower and stared out into the New York City lights. He leaned against the bacheca and sighed, for the millionth time. "Maybe... maybe there is no one out there that could be loving me. Maybe the sky spirits made a mistake when they created me."
You know that's not true.. a kind female voice rang through his head.
Oh, let him think that! a harsh male voice said.
"Hello?" Julien said. "Who's there?"
We're your spiritual advisers. the female voice said.
"My what?" Julien asked out loud.
Spiritual advisors. snarled the male. Our forms aren't ready yet, so for now we're stuck inside your noggin.
"What is your job being?" Julien asked.
We are here to help te through this. the female said. We are here to give te advice.
"So what consigli can te be giving me?"
You want my advice, buddy? the male said. </I>Jump out of this building! No one's gonna miss te anyways. Do it</I> Julien looked over the building and then looked back at the lontra habitat. She doesn't care for you, JUMP! Julien looked back at the ground.
Don't do it Julien! the female said. Should I? Julien thought. Or should I not?
