Unlike the general conscious Arceus is in fact NOT god of the pokemon world in any context. In fact thats pretty much a western religion view of him. Looking at it from the Japanese perspective though and it looks più like Arceus is in fact based off an ancient deity that only created others(in this case dialga palkia and the lake trio and possibly giratina) and once it did that it just left. Went off somewhere and disappeared leaving its creations to act as gods themselves in a way. So in essence it did what the pokedex detto it created the universe with its 1000 arms and after that it created the legendary pokemon(stated above) and left. It is in no way "god" of the pokemon world nor of all pokemon and te have to think about it pokemon is primarily for kids so having a god would be very odd for Nintendo as thats almost saying they think religion A is real which conflicts with religions B-Z all over the world.
Though the new movie(yes spoilers BEWARE) involving arceus lables him as the most powerful pokemon and makes fine use of his ability.

Simple retconing. Regardless what they detto about mew then arceus exists now so they do what they want with him. Of course him being deemed strongest in no way makes him a god of the pokemon world in any context.
Arceus is the god of Pokemon, and Mew is weaker than Arceus and Mew it even depends on the nature created da Arceus. Arceus is not created da anyone Mew as well, but after making spazio and time Arceus, Mew go into spazio and time.
wait so most of te people are saying that the god of all pokemon came from an egg wow that is awesome oh wait mew didnt come from an egg weird and arceus is powerfull ok maybe the most powerfull but still a god came to be from an egg? that is rich people,seriously there is no god of pokemon if so then proffesor juniper for example would not be searching of the origin of pokemon since that the pokedex as te guys are convinced says that it is the "god" of all pokemon , people a god comes from an egg how amazing and aswell i thought legendaries do not breed and breed means they do not lay eggs but do they come from eggs? no they just are there and lugia no does not breed but it has a baby why because lugia is not immortal and so are some other pokemon only are just one in all of the world but the 2nd lugia is called Silver and it probably is borned to be the 2nd lugia in the world and the first lugia is just really ancient so it has to have a son if te want to give it a gender anyways lugia is just different and probably an amazing pokemon if te ask me now mew is just a pokemon that is awesome and has the dna of all pokemon , oh wait dna of all pokemon te mean mew has the dna of the so called god of pokemon then mew can be god aswell if arceus is god,so NO there is no GOD of pokemon at least YET but there is pokemon that created parts of the world like giratina created darkness dialga created time and palkia created spazio and so on , if te ask me the god of pokemon certainly exists but we might not be able to even get close to know that pokemon because it would just be weird to do so , i mean seriously why would a god mostra himself to ash o something like that,ok friendship exists between ash and his pokemon but still the god of pokemon probably just watches above and btw mewtwo speaks human isnt that just weird that arceus dosent? every pokemon has its own mystic mystery if i may say so,so in the end that is my answer

Mew gave birth to Mewtwo before he was genetically modified(look at the journals at Cinnabar Mansion) and if the the creator's say the god of all Pokémon came from an egg he came from an egg. And its kinda obvious Mew no longer has the DNA of every pokemon since some are man-made(sludge made Grimer, the Porygon series, Yamask etc.). Giratina governs over anti-matter and Mewtwo doesn't actually talk, its telepathy. I could go on longer on why your wrong but it ain't really worth it.
well arceus does not use telpathy that is if it does have it and they did not say its the god of pokemon it just created the world of pokemon and about mew's dna so if arceus is god of pokemon before those new pokemon arceus must of existed so mew appeared after it if te guys are correct witch means that mew has its dna? te just proved me right thank te very much
Interesting.^-^ I think that Mew is the god of all Pokemon too, because in the first movie it says so if te have the uncut version. Also, MewBox01 why did te say the 2nd Kugia was Silver? Do te mean the Silver from the Pokemon Special/Adventure maga series, the Silver that is the rival in the GS games, o a totally different Silver?

I know arceus exsist but technichally arceus is not an official poke'mon the pokemon compony does not want ANYBODY! to know about it + Mewto is the god of all pokemon.

Thats what was detto with mew and a couple other legendaries that I can't remember.Trust me, give it a generation o two and there will be a new "god of all pokemon" and Arceus will be in his/her shadow and people will be calling this new pokegod overrated.
Arceus is the god of all pokemon, and mew is the ancestor, which means he has all of the pokemon DNA in its body. mewtwo is a clone of mew, its nothing related to Arceus. Mewtwo should have never happened. If te dont know what im talking about, watch Pokemon, the first movie, mewtwo vrs mew.

i always thought it was ho-oh that was the ultimate pokemon so maybe even the god pokemon so im kind of confused after seing arceus in its movie but i still think ho-oh is the superiore, in alto poke as it only shows itself to worth people and all and that its flame is used to start the pokemon leagues most times so just think about it one time k
yes. he was based off a creator deity(noted when arceus was detto to shape the universe). he also based off pan gu(noted that both arceus and pan gu were both born from an egg before the universe).

Yes, he is. It says in the Pokemon Essential Handbook that he emerged from an egg in a place where there was nothing and that he is believed to have shaped the world. In Pearl is says that it is told in mythology that he was born before the universe even existed. In Diamond it states that in mythology it was detto that this Pokemon shaped the universe with its 1,000 arms. He also created Palkia, Giratina, and Dialga when the universe started to be formed and gave the position for Dialga to take control over time, Palkia controlling space, and Giratina controlling antimatter. So, since he created the universe, he is the god of Pokemon. (At least that is what I believe to be true.)
Well yes he is the Judgement Pokemon and he created Palkia to crwate spazio Dialga to create time and Garitena to guard the shadow realm but people say that Gamefreak does not want te to know about it so yes he is but apparently HO OH was the first god pokemon
I say no. It's my own personal beliefs- I think Lord Goomy is the god of all Pokémon. I believe Lord Goomy is a mountain-height Goomy that controls the multiverse, Arceus was a co-god that got power-hungry and became basically the Devil, and they made Lord Helix. Technicly yes, those stateing its mew lets not forget mew is only theorized to be the ansester of all pokemon because it contained the dna of all 150 original pokemon and game freak just lacked the foresight to change that with new lore. arceus is proven to be the one that created time spazio and antimatter in the form of dialga, palkia and giratena, as well as spirit in the forms of uxie mesperit and azelf. All of thise legendaries exsisted before mew could even exsist.

arceus can defeat mega mewto x do te know why because he is god of all pokemons he created mew and mewtwo was created da mew's dna so arceus can just use all of his life plates and beat the hell out of mewtwo watch the movie read the manga watch pokemon

oh my god guys arceus was the first pokemon created and mew wasn't the god arceus was just not discovered yet so they figured mew was the first pokemon but the truth is arceus hatched from and egg felling lonely arceus created dialga, palkia, giratina and then arceus creatd più legendaries until arceus created mew. mew was the one who created all the other pokemons but arceus created all the legendaries including the one in gen 6 so arceus is god mew just created all the other pokemon Peace out
Lemme explain. Arceus is powerful enough to be a god. It created 6 powerful Pokemon (Dialga, Palkia, Giratina, Azelf, Mesprit, and Uxie). It even made the entire Sinnoh region. It's called the God Pokemon. But it's not "God", just A god. Like a Greek god o an Egyptian god. It's powerful but not that powerful.
