Kat still layed in the bed, exhausted from the past few days.

Surge looked through the house, looking for anything interesting.

Kat got up and yawned and looked around, not seing Surge in the room. She got up and looked for him, " Surge?"

"yeah Kat?" he walked out from a room at the end of the hall.

"I woke up and you were gone, just wanted to know that you were alright." she walked up to him and gave him a gentle smile.

"im just fine, thanks" he smiled back and he pressed his forehead against hers.

She smiled and kissed the tip of his nose, " Good. You really do need to rest though, you've been hurt quite a bit more than I have."

he nodded and he headed towards the bedroom and he took his jacket off and he laid down on the bed

She followed him in and laid next to him, wrapping her arm around a pillow.

he closed his eyes and relaxed.

She put her other hand on his chest and closed her eyes, soon falling back to sleep.

he put his other hand on her hip and soon after fell asleep also.

Kat remained asleep, now she had moved completely in Surge's arms.

while he was still asleep, he felt her embrace and he smiled in his sleep

She layed her head on his chest and opened her eyes slowly, smiling at the fact she was in his arms.

he breathed in deeply then exhaled and the opened his eyes to look at Kat. "id love to wake up to this face every morning." he smiled

he kissed her for a little while longer and then he sat up

She sat up with him and got off his chest.

"hungry?"

She shook her head, " No, I'm okay. You go ahead an eat, I'm going to clean up." she got off the bed and went into the bathroom.

He went to the fridge and looked for anything good to eat

She turned on the shower and stepped in.

"huh.... noting....." he went to the bathroom "hey Kat, im going out to get some food, okay?"

She put her head just outside the shower cutain, " Be careful, please."

"of course" he walked towards the door and grabbed his AK.

She went back in and finished her shower.

He walked outside and jogged through the city

She finished her shower and got dressed. Then she went to the living room to wait for Surge.

Background: Lived with her best friend after running away from her abusive mother. When this all started her friend got killed in a riot right in front of her.

After about 30 mins surge came back with a large container of food and he set it in the kitchen

She went into the kitchen and laughed a little, " Got enough food?" she teased.

he smiled "oh yeah, im starving."

She smiled, " Well eat up. I'm going to see if anyone is nearby."

"you sure you dont want me to go with you?"

"I'm sure, I'm just going to walk around to see if soldiers are near or not. I'll be back soon." she kissed his cheek before going to the bedroom to get her gun and shoes.

'hmmmm..." he looked at the container "she's way more important than my hunger." he grabbed his gun and waited by the door.

Kat went back to the front door but paused, " I thought you were going to eat?"

"your way more important than my hunger, if lost you i don't know what i'd do."

She smiled at im and cupped his cheek in her hand, " You won't lose me Surge, ever."

he held her hand against his cheek and he sighed
