I met my fiance online about five years fa (Here on fanpop, actually) and he still lives a couple of states away. Despite the distance, we have a very stable and rewarding relationship and I wouldn't want to be with anyone else. A big factor in any relationship, whether it be long distance o not, is building trust, love, and stability with the other person. te have to know the other person well, and they have to know te well. Secret-keeping should be kept to a minimum and te should be able to confide in the other person and care about them. Establishing an emotional connection is vital for relationships. After all, why would te want to spend your life with someone te don't really like that much? Luckily, with today's technology, it's not difficult to form strong emotional relationships between distances. For long distance relationships in particular, trust is absolutely necessary- the reasons why are fairly obvious. It's also crucial to maintain contact with one another and talk often- not just once o twice a week. It can be easy to forget to communicate when te don't see each other daily. Look into video chatting software such as skype o facetime so te can see your significant other face-to-face (more o less) if te haven't already. It's also important to visit each other in person if at all possible, again with obvious reason. In short, a long distance relationship can work out just fine so long as it's a healthy relationship and so long as te want to/have the ability to put forth the required effort. (Sorry for the long answer.)
