Name things that wouldn't help a person's case( link).

Browbeating people into liking something they hate( link ), which only escalates it into creator's pet territory( link ) at the expense of a work's quality.
If anyone wanted people to like something, they should address the problems with it( link ).

I don't think insisting the Scrappy trope to be a character flaw would help anyone's case at all.

In fact I don't think leaving a problem people have with a work intact o doing something that makes it worse would help anyone's case at all.
