Maybe it's because I am a responsible adult now but in my opinion I don't think children should be alound to come on any websites, they never know who they could run into. Besides that I even think you have to be at least 13 to become a member of this site, lots of sites are like that.

13 like the site said? Even then I think that's a little young when I look back at the comments I made when I first joined--I was 13 exactly. Language can get pretty mature on here. On top of that a lot of really young kids aren't exactly accepting and respectful to opinions that differ from their own. In my expirence with users claiming to be only 8...well it just wasn't good.

Obviously nothing will stop a younger person from making an account, but entering into an environment where you are communicating with strangers... I dunno, it wouldn't sit right knowing some 9 year old was hanging around here. Definitely some of the younger users in their early teens conduct themselves pretty well, but some claiming to be 10 or something... their age really shows and it just makes things a tad awkward.

I would have done 13+ but it would have ruined the perfect pattern of +2 each time and that would bother me to the end of the world.

Okay, I have to say this myself, I joined this website when I was 11. That year was hilariously horrible now that I look back at it. Arrogant. Annoying. Egotistical. Immature. Narrow minded. XD I was so out of place back then. And even being a 14 year old now that was able to fit in rather well by the age of 13 (or mid-late 12) I dont think people should join until 13 at the very least for multiple reasons. There are all sorts of people that can be helpful and nice, creepy and weird, and/or depressing and dark. There are so much that people who are young shouldnt be knowing at their age or put to the danger of creepers and all. Then theres the fact that they will more than likely embarrass themselves when they look back with how immature they are acting without noticing. Then another reason is the fact that, as Zeppie said, its not all that comfortable to know the person is several years younger than you and acts it. Its just something awkward that the older people would prefer not dealing with.


Even on other websites, going up and saying "Hey Im >12 years old" has a really bad stigma to it.

Theres a certain level of maturity that seems to be necessary for allowing both sides of the internet to be comfortable and fitting really.....
