Example: Your phone breaks then a few days later someone you know gets really sick. And a week or so later you get sick with something different. And then days later your sink breaks and you have to make expensive repairs.

Or something like this; link

It depends. If some major bad thing happens then everything comes down crashing at once.

For me major bad things usually come in clusters. Last summer was a prime example.

I would normally say "sometimes", but I feel more often than not, it does usually come in clusters. Its not necessarily as much as they HAPPEN in clusters, but they SEEM to happen in clusters because when one thing happens badly, you are much more prone to responding to / being sensitive to smaller problems that would otherwise be unnoticed so it appears like a lot of things are crashing at once.

Other than that psychological trick, I feel it would just naturally be sometimes cause chance and just bad luck

In addition, one event can cause other events to happen in a Domino-like effect.

I feel that it is not because it actually happens in clusters, but that when something prominently goes wrong, we are more prone and susceptible to other bad things. Our lives don't get any worse. We just simply notice it more immediately after a more negative event and so it seems more extreme and frequent than it is.

I feel like they do. Sometimes I feel like it's what Riku said other times I feel like they have nothing to do with each other.

For example: My computer's hard drive failed due to age. Then my car's battery died because of the cold. Then I was in a car accident and this all happened in one month, weeks apart.
Another example was back in 2016 or so: I had a family member get very ill. A few days later I found out one of my friend's parents passed away. And then a week or so after that my laptop got (another) virus).

So sometimes I think that it's a domino effect thing. Other times I think it's just pure bad luck one thing after another.
