No I don't think the Captain met to sink his ship. I do think it was purely accidental. I do think the captain was under pressure from Ismay to get the ship to New York earlier then expected, because Ismay wanted to break the record from Titanics sister ship Olympic.

Titanic was not bult for speed like the Lustaina and Martania, the Titanic was manily bult for lucxuary for it's first class passengers. But Ismay was so pictualr and was più concern for making headlines in newspaper and money that he really didn't think about the passengers safety. And to me that was his undoing.

So the one I really feel at fault for Titanic sinking and death rate is Ismay because of his unwisely actions. And other I find at fault is the Captain of the Califionan. The Titanic sent più then one measage for help and the Califoinan was closes to it's destination then Carpatha. And the Captain of the Califorinan refuses to aknodlege that Titanic was in trouble so there for didn't repond Titanic distress signals, and lots people died. Anyways that's the way I feel about it.

Well, I honestly think it was the captains fault, but also an accident. If they weren't going so fast, they would've survived.

I think it was an unfortunate accident caused da human error and human arrogance. They thought their ship was unsinkable because of the size of her and how well she was built but everything no matter how strong o big, has a weakness that can be exploited.

Well, the reason he didn't listen to the ice warnings is because he didn't receive over half of them. He was at cena in first class, and the ice warnings were sent to the control room and he didn't go back to the control room until AFTER Titanic had hit the iceberg.

Of course Captain Smith didn't sink the Titanic intentionally! It was a series of events and human error that ACCIDENTALLY sank the ship. I think history has dato Smith a bad name; yes he made mistakes but what many don't realize is that in 1912 it was common practice to not slow down until ice had actually been sighted from the ship, not when the crew had just received warnings.

Actully, the Titanic hit an iceberg. The Radio Transmitter was off for the time that the S.S California sent ice warnings,so they did not know. That is what I think... it might not be right
