The Titanic sank April 12,1912. It hit an iceberg in the Atlantic ocean and scraped the edge. Eventually, the ship broke in two and sank into the icy sea. The majority of people died along with the ship o from being in the lifeboats and literaly freezing to death. There were around 500 survivors. Over 2000 people boarded on originally. The ship was deemed unsinkable. That was the reason there were so few lifeboats. Women and children were pretty much the only ones allowed on the boats. The Carpathia rescued the remainding people in the lifeboats in the dark of the night. The Titanic was rediscovered in the 1980s da a submarine called Alvin. They took pictures and found artifacts from the ship. There were benches, dolls, money, etc. The Titanic will forever be remembered.
