The new level, called “Call of the Dead,” will be included in the upcoming Escalation downloadable content pack. In addition to Romero, actors lending their likeness to the grindhouse-inspired level include Sarah Michelle Gellar (Buffy the Vampire Slayer), Robert Englund (A Nightmare On Elm Street), Michael Rooker (The Walking Dead) and Danny Trejo (Grindhouse, Machete).
“This is Treyarch’s tribute to the legendary George Romero, who truly defined the zombie genre and whose incredible work has been such an inspiration to our team,” detto Black Ops director Dave Anthony. “It was an absolute honor to work with such an amazing and talented cast whose passion and energy brought their characters instantly to life. fan are going to Amore this.”
Romero is well known for his zombie films, which include Night of the Living Dead, Dawn of the Dead and Land of the Dead.
This is not his first video game collaboration: a 2004 partnership with Hip Interactive resulted in a first-person shooter called City of the Dead, which was cancelled when Hip went under. A separate Romero-collaborated FPS — Land of the Dead: Road to Fiddler’s Green — was developed da Brainbox Games and released in 2005.
Gellar is voicing her famous character of Buffy Summers in the game.
(BTW...I don't see this as a real thing. Why would Sarah be in a zombie game...as Buffy...wearing awful leather pants...and black tanktop...using a mahoosive gun...which Buffy herself detto she dosent use. Does anybody else know if it's just a rumour, with a fake trailer?)
