Actually, you're not "supposed" to do anything. It's generally accepted that te can have all the hair down there te want until te start being sexually active (because there's no reason to go to the bother of making something pretty until te know someone will be able to see it), and after that point te can ask your partner if they find te più attractive with o without the hair, because everyone has a different opinion. Even then, it's your body, and te have the final word.

That being said, I think it's considered trendy in the United States right now to shave it off (no idea about other countries). Note the word "trend", what's popolare now might not be in a few years.
