Sherlock got up early the successivo morning. He looked over at Joan and smiled. He loved her so much. He leaned over and kissed her lightly so he wouldn't wake her. He got dressed then made his way downstairs, he grabbed his phone of the tavolo and phoned Gregson.
'Holmes.'
'Captain, if Joan phones te and asks i was with te all this morning.'
'Ok, why?'
'I'll explain later.' He hung up his phone and made his way out the door.
He had been looking round the store for thirty minuets when he found exactly the right ring. It was a silver diamond with two blue sapphires either side of it. The woman asked if he would like to look at it.
'Please.'
She unlocked the cabinet and took it out. Sherlock picked it up and study it carefully. After a moment he had decided.
'I'll take it.'
Irene was across the road watching him. She didn't want to continue with this but she had no choice, Moriarty would kill her if she refused. He took out her camera and took a few shots of him, He looked so happy. He had that gleam in his eye. When he came out, she began to walk in the other direction and got back in her car. She couldn't believe he could be getting married and it wasn't to her.
Sherlock arrived at the station and made his way to Gregson's office.
'Holmes, what can i do for you?'
'I'm here to explain about this morning.' Gregson gestured for him to take a seat. 'Thank you. As i was saying about this morning, i asked te to lie to Joan for one simple reason.' He took a box out of his pocket and handed it to Gregson, who opened it.
'Holmes...Is this?..'
'It certainly is.' Gregson took the ring out of the box and examined it closely.
'She'll Amore it.' He placed it the box and handed it back to Sherlock. 'When are te going to ask her?.'
'I was thinking in a few days time.'

'Thank te Captain.'He shook his hand. Little did they know their conversation was being recorded.
He arrived back the arenaria, brownstone and found Joan upstairs in their room but the door was locked.
'Joan?.'
'Sherlock, that you?.'
'Yeah, why is the door locked?.'
'I'm just trying a dress on.'
'Ok but why did te lock the door?.'
'Because i was going to suggest we go out for cena tonight and i wanted to surprise you.'
'Ok, i'll leave te to it.' He went back downstairs and looked over some old case files. Since Moriarty had seemed to dis-appear it was how he preoccupied his time. This one was particularity interesting, it involved a serial killer. A woman. She stalks her victims for a few days then waits till their alone and feel secure. She breaks in to their house and painfully tortures them to the point of death. After a few minuets, Joan came downstairs and peered over at the file.
'Cheery subject(!).'
'It's quite interesting actually.'
'I'll bet.' She went into the kitchen. 'What did Gregson want?.'
'Help with a case. Why?.'
'Just wondering. He seems to be needing your help alot these days.'
'He always needs my help, plus some theses could be caused da Moriarty.' He scanned the file once più before placing it back in the pile. He went into the cucina and wrapped his arms around Joan. 'I can tell your scared but there's no need to be. I'll be careful, i promise te that.' He kissed her head. She sank into the hug.
'I know, i can't help it. After what happened with Irene and everything else. I still can't believe they dropped the prison sentence.'
