'So Moriarty, 'M' wouldn't happen to be short for that?.'
'Ding Ding, Winner!.'
'I thought i would never find you. I spent ages scrolling through case file after case file but nothing. Not even a whisper and now, there te stand. Tell me something, why kill so many people?.'
'Haven't te ever done something just because te could?.' Sherlock became tense. 'But of course you have, te were Irene's drug addict boyfriend.'
'I wasn't that addicted when i was with her, it was only after te made her fake her death.'
'Well she wouldn't play fair.'
'What do te mean?.'
'Did she tell why she faked her death?.'
'Because te threatened to kill me.' Moriarty gave a little chuckle. 'What?.'
'That's not the whole story.'
'Then what is?.'
'She wanted più money. I told her no but she kept on pushing. She told me she would do più riskier jobs so i gave her one. But little did i know, she was wearing a wire. I manged to avoid the police and I tracked her down. She begged me not to hurt her, she detto she would do anything. I told her she had to leave and work with me on bring te down.'
'Why me?.'
'Because te foiled so many of my crimes. I needed time to plan my revenge. But when i found out te were her boyfriend i thought i could use this to my advantage. So i told her to fake her death to make te go mad on drugs.' He raised the gun. 'But that clearly didn't work. So i guess the gun will have to do.'
'It did work. I went to rehab.'
'Yes but i thought te might of OD on the stuff, it would have saved me the hassle.'
'So that's your plan? Your just going to shoot me?.'
'Never failed me before.'
Joan woke up in the hospital. She looked to her left and saw Gregson sitting in the chair.
'Hey.'
'Hey. How te feeling?.'
'Ok, i guess.' She looked up at the drip which was attached to her arm. 'Never thought i'd be attached to one of these.'
'Your lucky, te were only dehydrated.' Joan looked round the room.
'Where's Sherlock?.' Gregson detto nothing. 'Thomas, where is he?.'
'...He let te go but only if Sherlock promised to go back inside.'
'And te let him?.'
'He ran back inside before i could even talk to him. My main priority was to get te to the hospital.'
'I know and i'm grateful for that but te could have stopped him. Shouldn't te be back there?.'
'My men are still in their positions. I told them to wait until Sherlock comes out.'
'What if he doesn't?.'
'Shooting me won't help. There is still a police force out there.'
'You think i don't have an escape plan?.'
'Fine but before te do, can i make a last request?.'
Gregson's phone went off. It was an unknown number.
'Hello?.'
'Gregson, it's me.' Gregson went outside the room so Joan couldn't hear. 'Holmes, where are te and what's going on?.'
'I'm still in the building and it seems i won't be leaving.'
'What'd te mean?.' He heard him sigh.
'Can te put Joan on?.'
'Holmes, do te think she's been through enough?.'
'So i don't even get to say goodbye?.'
'Goodbye? What are te talking about?.'
'Think it through Captain.' Gregson understood immediately. He took a moment then went back inside the room. He handed Joan the phone then left again to her some privacy.
'Hello?.'
'Hey.'
'Sherlock!? Are te ok?.'
'I'm fine. What about you?.'
'Alot better, what's going on? Where are you?.'
'I'm still at the building but...' He couldn't bring himself to tell her.
'What?.'
'Joan, i just wanted to let te know that I've loved every moment of our time together. I never thought i could Amore again after what happened to me in Londra but somehow i did. I Amore Joan Watson. I'll miss you.'
'What do te mean da "Miss you"?.'
'I won't be seeing te again. I'm sorry for getting te caught up in all this.'
'Sherlock, just... run.' She had tears forming in her eyes.
'Can't.' Moriarty raised the gun. 'Bye Joan.'
'I..I Amore you.'
'I know.' All she heard successivo was a bang. 'Sherlock?. Sherlock!?.'
'Ding Ding, Winner!.'
