The anno 1939 proved to be a momentous time for fan of Arthur Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes. The anno marked the debut of two Film that featured the movie introduction of Basil Rathbone and Nigel Bruce as the famous literary detective and his friend, Dr. John Watson.

For the past 120 years o so, Sherlock Holmes has reigned as the indisputable king of fictional characters the world over. So, with the richly deserved popularity of the newest Holmes offering da the redoubtable BBC, it simply stands to tedious reason that American Televisione would immediately want to rush out a 'knock off'. Enter 'Elementary', who's misplaced claim to fame is having cast Watson as (egads!!) a woman. "SHERLOCK HOLMES" (2009) Review

I have never been a major fan of the Sherlock Holmes novels and stories penned da Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and other writers. Once, I tried to get interested in them da Leggere one o two novels. But they had simply failed to spark my interest.

I have shown a little più enthusiasm toward the various Film and Televisione adaptations of Doyle’s novels and characters. Mind you, I never became a faithful viewer of the Televisione series that starred Jeremy Brett as Holmes. But I have do have my private lista of Sherlock Holmes Film that I consider as personal favorites....
