[OSEN=이혜린 기자] In the midst of the sensational wave brought on da BIGBANG’s TAEYANG with his solo choreography video of ‘Ringa Linga,’ YG Entertainment’s Yang Hyun Suk extolled his artist da commenting, “I watched this video più than a hundred times.”
Yang delivered this commento to OSEN on Nov 9, “The video is just so awesome that I watch it over and over again every single day.”
Such commento is drawing huge attention because it comes from Yang Hyun Suk, who had been dubbed the ‘dancer of the era’ in the 1990’s and the core player who choreographed every sposta for the extremely famous Seotaeji and Boys.
The video with TAEYANG’s choreography was filmed in L.A., joined da 12 top-notch dancers in the United States. Each sposta displays a highly meticulous and powerful aspect of the choreography.
The latest choreography was a work da the leader of ReQuest Dance Crew, Parris Goebel, the winner of World Hip-hop Dance Championship. Goebel is a renowned dancer who worked with Jennifer Lopez on her Dance Again World Tour last year, and is the ‘hot’ choreographer in the country.
Yang explained, “This video shows America’s superiore, in alto dancers. The choreographer in particular, Goebel, is someone who changed the entire paradigm and the trend of choreography in the world. He is the top. This is why I sent TAEYANG to the States to complete the choreography for his new song.”
Goebel, after being asked da YG Entertainment to choreograph TAEYANG’s new song ‘Ringa Linga’ in October, watched TAEYANG’s performances on YouTube. He was absolutely impressed da TAEYANG, and made time to visit LA to meet with TAEYANG, despite his work in Canada. He was highly enthusiastic about finishing up TAEYANG’s choreography.
And Yang is equally impressed da TAEYANG’s dance skills. He commented, “In the video, TAEYANG boasts a dance skill that no foreign solo artists could rival. It’s very high quality. But what’s più amazing is that he is dancing with the world’s superiore, in alto dancers, and he does not lag behind—instead, he seems to be standing out even more.”
Goebel, before embarking his journey with TAEYANG, also commented, “Frankly I was very surprised with his dance skills. He is simply awesome,” and added, “He spared no effort in learning the choreography, and he is a great person to work with as a partner.”
Until now, TAEYANG was known for his gentle, mellow R&B genre through songs like ‘Only Look At Me’, ‘Wedding Dress’ and ‘I Need a Girl’, but this time he is here to capture the attention of people da unveiling a hip-hop beat song with a remarkably powerful dance moves in the new ‘Ringa Linga.”
The much-anticipated song and performance will be unveiled on SBS’s Inkigayo on Nov 10.
