Travel is a perk of the job for the smouldering stella, star of the Borgias. During filming in Budapest, he soaked up the city’s rich culture. “I went to a lot of museums. It’s a very lively city and things are changing so quickly”.
“I don’t get recognised much. I guess because my look is so different. I don’t have the accappatoio, vestaglia and the leather pants.”
Their on-screen encounters are always tempestuous, but François considers the cast - including British actor Jeremy Irons - his secondo family. “We all live in the same neighbourhood in Budapest and we eat together almost every night.”
