The Crow from 1994 is one of my top favorite comic book adaptations, but there are still some changes I didn't like, some things I didn't mind and others I actually liked better.

One thing I didn't like was how it happen, in the comic Eric and Shelly's car broke down on the road, that's when the group shows up, Eric is shot and can't doing anything but watch as Shelly is raped, beaten and killed. In the film it was because of tenant relocation program... that and why they were living in that shithole city didn't make any sense, although Brandon Lee's death might have had something to do with that, since some changes were made. Another thing I didn't like was that Asian woman, Myca, she was a made-up character, she's not from the comics and she figures it out way too quickly that there's some type of connection to Eric and the crow bird and every shitty sequel has used that plotline. In fact, that whole thing doesn't make any sense, if there was something that could disrupt the whole process of getting revenge from the supernatural powers above, then why would the bird be capable of being harmed???? In the comic the crow bird is not a physical bird, but a spiral crow that only Eric can see, so therefore he can't be hurt. Eric or whoever is brought back becomes a force of nature that can't be stopped. Speaking of those sequels, there have been other Crow comics but none of the sequels were based off them, although I'm sure they would have butchered them.

When it comes to changes that I didn't mind was that Shelly wasn't a brunette, she was a blonde, Eric wasn't a musician, he was a mechanic, Sarah wasn't her name, it was Sherri, the bird talked, but that could have looked silly in the film, the character called Skull Cowboy could have confused people and I'm so sick of those characters who blame them for something that clearly wasn't their fault since that's the only reason why Skull Cowboy is there. The excuse some people use is that it's supposed to motive them… as if the beating, rape and death of their loved one wasn't enough. The owner of the pawn shop was killed by Eric in the comic, he never went back to Top Dollar with a message, but again I didn't mind that change, it was pretty funny seeing him being thrown from the explosion and hitting the wall.

When it comes to things, I liked better in the film, Albrecht played a bigger role in the movie, Sherri / Sarah in the comic was just a random girl Eric ran into and gave the necklace with the engagement ring too, but I like that Eric, Shelly and Sarah were a small family in the film, giving her the ring had a much more meaningful moment to it. There's more to all three, but I can't think of any right now.

Having said all that, considering how films are made these days with woke agendas, I can't see a reboot being good.
