14 Things To Expect If Effie Trinket Hosted ‘SNL’
Is it the weekend yet? Because actress and director Elizabeth Banks will host this weekend’s episode of “Saturday Night Live.” When I heard this, my first thought was, “Wait, that technically means Effie Trinket from ’The Hunger Games’ is hosting ’SNL.\'”
How wild would that be? The costumes alone would be insane. In fact, Effie did make an appearance on “SNL,” sorta. Kate McKinnon donned the Effie look and interrupted Josh Hutcherson’s monologue to draw actors’ names and start her own death battles on the stage.
With the final installment of “The Hunger Games” series, “Mockingjay — Part 2,” premiering Nov. 20, we decided to imagine all the shenanigans Effie would get into while hosting the long-running sketch comedy and variety show. Spoiler: It would be all about “M&M”: manners and mahogany.

How To Decide If You’re Team Peeta Or Team Gale: A Scientific Approach To The Ultimate ‘Hunger Games’ Question
For starters, Effie’s outfit would obviously be on point.
Sorry, Donald Trump. Your unpredictable hair was last week’s news.
And would change a minimum of 17 times during the hour-long program.
Plus, she’d yell this at audience members who weren’t dressed as extravagantly as they should be.
Then, she’d draw ~poorly dressed~ audience members’ names instead of actors’, making them fight to the death on stage.
Once the death matches were over and a winner was crowned, the actors could come out for the first skit of the night. Effie would announce this loudly, demanding the audience applaud and cheer like their lives depended on it.
During a particularly funny moment, Effie wouldn’t be able to contain herself, rudely interrupting the skit to share her feelings on the matter.
Because the world revolves around Effie Trinket, and the sooner everyone gets that, the better.
And if a character stepped out of line during a skit, she’d gladly interrupt it to reign ’em back in.
“SNL” is known to have crude, adult humor, but not on Effie’s watch.
She’d make sure every single prop was made out of mahogany. No exceptions.
But because she’s a good sport, she’d agree to parody her mahogany obsession.
During the show, she’d steal furtive glances at Haymitch, because true love is real.
Then he’d do something Haymitch-y and she’d have to leave for a moment.
But she’d return shortly after, all bubbly and full of life.
Effie would end her hostly duties by leaving everyone with this final thought.
