This particular version of The Phantom of the Opera is set in Peter Pan’s London. As The Musical Peter Pan is almost 70 years old, The original creator of the Saint Joan opera is long dead, and thus the role of Phantom has been passed on to me. Thus, the Musical Peter Pan was stolen from me, along with my humanity, as Saint Joan was stolen, from Professor L. Petrie. It Starts with a beautiful Broadway stella, star Mary Martin, (who is my Christine,) who drew in children with her performance of Peter Pan, Saint Joan of Arc pretending to be of the masculine gender with a dagger. Your Phantom at the...

Phantom:
Night-time sharpens,
heightens each sensation
Darkness stirs and wakes imagination
Silently the senses abandon their defences ...

Slowly, gently night unfurls its splendour
Grasp it, sense it - tremulous and tender
Turn your face away
from the garish light of day,
turn your thoughts away
from cold, unfeeling light -
and listen to the Musica of the night ...

Close your eyes and surrender to your
darkest dreams!
Purge your thoughts of the life
te knew before!
Close your eyes,
let your spirit start to soar!
And you'll live
as you've never lived before ...

Softly, deftly,
Musica shall surround...

 Erik and Christine.
Erik and Christine.
Hi guys, I'm going to compare the original novel and the stage musical that popularise the former.

The Novel

When I first read the book, I was taken aback about how the story was different from the musical. It starts with Joseph Buquet's mysterious death, which was officially ruled as a suicide.
Raoul was a very unlikable character in the novel unlike the musical counterpart, he is always angry with Christine and his relationship with Philippe, his elder brother was really explosive due to disapproval over his relationship with Christine.
Erik still remains the same and in the novel, he's also...

I think the musical style is similar to "Peter Pan" which premiered on Broadway in 1954.
