Chapter 18
Abandoned
Father literally freezed and glared it me with such intensity.
“Don’t give me that look, I didn’t even know they’d be here.” I said, putting my hands up.
Father suddenly smirked. “Then they’ll find the killer, enjoy jail angel.”
My mouth dropped open, and father smirked cruelly at me, he turned to Azerien. “Come Junior, we must go.”
Azerien flinched, his eyes darting between us, torn once again. “Father do te really-”
“Yes! Now come!”
Azerien looked at me miserably, he mouthed ‘I’m sorry’, and he followed father out. I was about to race after them, until I heard the door knock. If I answer it, they’ll wonder. If I don’t they’ll most likely sneak in here.
One option only, I have to hide.
As I thought of that I heard the door click open, porbably from a barrett. I almost froze until I kicked myself out of it (not literally), I raced to my room as quietly as I could and I could hear America yell out “hello”.
In my room, I took my laptop, and a few little prised posseions with evidence of me and I threw them out window. Luckily they landed in the soft spot of grass, covered and safely hidden, unlike me. I quietly went into father’s room put cursed when I saw most of his…things, gone. He must’ve entered here took his things with the help of Azerien and jumped out of the now open window.
I heard footsteps on the stairs coming up, and I panicked. I looked around everywhere, and saw father’s personal bathroom, I went in there.
I turned off the light, breathing hard. I looked up and saw those air vent things where te a skinny person could fit through.
Hallelujah!
Father’s room was at the end of the hall, hopefully they should check this last. I managed to get through it da standing on the toilet and carefully jumping up. It would’ve been perfect, if I hadn’t dropped the cover for it. It made a deathly clang on the floor and I hurriedly scurried through.
The airvent was very spaced, and I could barely breathe, but I quickly made my way through and entered upon the regular bathroom where I just saw America leave.
Carefully, I removed the cover and dropped on the floor, I landed on my feet with grace (pure luck) and I peeked through the door.
Not a single soul.
I quickly went down the steps and saw the front door, oh, the glorious front door. I was about to race to it when I saw Gregori’s back. Quickly I went to to hide under the couch, but I tripped on shoelaces so I was behind the divano , but I fell behind it, and I’m sure there’s a light bruise forming.
I quickly pulled in my legs when I saw Gregori turn, so he wouldn’t see them. That would be a pretty pathetic way to get caught. He had this curious look on his face, but he shrugged and turned back to the door.
He was keeping a lookout!
Scratch escaping through the front door, the windows my best bet.
I crawled away from the couch, towards the kitchen. Luckily Gregori was so fascinated with the door, that he didn’t bother to turn his head to look around all the places. Great job, Gregori, I’m guessing he was roped into this.
I saw a window. A window! I stood on the counter, looking towards Gregori, who now looked like he was sleeping standing up. It was morning after all, and I think he once told me that he did most of his sleeping first period.
I scuttled through and landed on the floor with a soft plop. I breathed in the lovely scent of grass, then ran to the side of the house, where some trees were that started to a forest. Where I had thrown all my things. Since the windows were open I could still hear, just barely, what they were saying.
“Nothing, nothing at all.” America detto dejected.
“Let’s just go, I’m sure-”
“No,” America cut Gregori off. “Were staying, come on guys, were so close. And he’s not here, we’ll find something, I’m sure of it.”
I breathed a sigh when I heard sounds of agreement. If they stood in that house, I would be fine, it helped my chances of them not catching me.
I took my things, o più likely, I took my laptop and hid my other things that couldn’t fit in my pockets. Then I put the rest of it in my special bag, that I was glad I threw down. It’s special because it once belonged to my mother, who used it for high school and I’d put all special things in there. I was relieved when my special thigns fit in with the stuff I threw down. Except my laptop, I’d just have to carry that. I was still crouching when I heard a noise, foot crunching with leaves on the floor.
Before I could do anything, a pair of feet in a stylish boots appeared before me. Sighing, I lifted myself to look at my capture.
Oh my gosh…
“Mom,” I whispered.

Hope still blazes
Inside me.
I know I can do this.
It's possible,
And hope is entirely on
My side.
I believe I can do this.
I shall soar like an eagle
And touch the sky.
Reaching my dreams,
Achieving my goals.
While the war still blazes away
Outside,
I have a dream
That one day,
Somewhere,
There will be peace.
Everyone will live in harmony
That day,
Peacefully,
Never before to be engaged
In the horrible shackles of war.
Though difficult,
I believe in myself.
I believe in my country.
I believe in the world.
I believe that we can do this.
Hope still blazes.
Inside me.
I know I can do this.
It's possible,
And hope is entirely on

This is my first full-length story that I've made.
te know, I would post it here chapter da chapter, but there's 23. And that would entirely cover up 'The Deadly Truth' (I know that should probably be underlined but my computer sucks and that isn't an option on here) chapters that are up thus far so I'm not doing that xD
Based off of the Percy Jackson series.
Note: This story kind of stinks, especially the first five chapters. Eve is a major Mary-Sue at the beginning, I think, but fanfiction.net won't let me change it so I can't really do much about it (plus I'm a sentimental weirdo who doesn't like to change things-- really gotta get over that). The secondo story, which I'll post after I get feedback on this, is WAY better. I'm on chapter 14 of that and it's already longer than the first and da FAR più descriptive and all. I blame myself for being younger when I started the first one :P
