Chapter 4
Something fishy
I had the perfect excuse to go back to the station, after my parents rash behavior I would need to have an apology at the ready. I mean, if te fight in the police station be glad te weren’t arrested.
I entered the police station, looking for anyone similar. I felt a tap on my shoulder and whirled around to find the boy I was looking for.
Cadence.
“Hello again, Destiny,” he said. “What brings te here?”
“I just wanted to apologize for my parents rude behavior.” I explained, trying to not get Lost in his deep blue eyes.
Cadence nodded, flashing me a dazzling smile. “Always noble I see, but we aren’t pressing charges, I’m surprised the broke after all this.”
“Excuse me?”
“Well,” Cadence paused, eyes scanning the room. “The police aren’t really doing a very good job of finding the killer.”
“Aren’t te a police man?” I asked.
Cadence grinned deviously, “nope, I’m a detective.”
“Don’t really see the difference,”
Cadence rolled his eyes. “I just moved here about a few years back, and just a anno fa did these people let me in to work.”
“How old are you?” I asked.
“Eighteen, sweetheart, nineteen in a couple of months.”
I nod, “I’m seventeen.”
Cadence nodded again. “I know.”
“What do te mean te know, we just met earlier today.”
“I’ve been searching in the case ever since it happened, and there was a lot of files of te and your family.”
“What?” I asked, alarmed.
“Your family has a record, your parents were very naughty children, and your sister upset a lot of people.”
“And me?”
“Surprisingly, nothing, your spotless. A bit strange, but not surprising.”
“How?” I asked.
“You weren’t the one that pushed things too far,” he replied simply.
“Can I see the files?”
“Have to work at the station, and get permission from the chief, o we’ll both be in trouble.”
I nod, Cadence studies me. “You didn’t come here to apologize did you?”
“Yes, I did.” I lied.
“Your lying.”
“And te know that how?”
“Oh, I just know,” he says mysteriously.
I’m starting to get annoyed so I ask the domanda I’ve been dying to ask, before I chicken out. “Will te help me?”
“With te sister’s death?”
I nod, “it seems that everyone has dato up on the case except me.”
“Of course I will,” he says. “But first…”
He takes my hand and leads me out the door, I am yet again stunned and do nothing as he maneuvers his way through our destination. After awhile we stop, and I look up, bewildered.
“Something’s fishy,” I said.
Literally.

Hi. My name is Jake Gartner, and right now, basically a huge mutant serpent is coming to ingoiare, inghiottire me whole, tear me to pieces of flesh, so I have no time to talk right now. Oh, um...you want to follow me? Sure, just accept that everyday will be the best of the thrills. Right now, we are not getting any help from the immortal world, so just know that we have a horrible system of magic right now, and we have an extremely low supply of weapons, thus, the chance that te will get out of this mess is around eighty-six percent. (because of me, the master of war) Oh yeah, the serpent. Enough talk. (ROARS) Off to kill a mutant serpent!!! (stabs, deflects, cuts a gash in its head, dies) That's only our first one, trainee. Whatever your name is. successivo time, I invite te to unisciti with us on our battle. And it will be even più life-consuming, if te know what that means.
I walk into
The Fields of Sorrow
Once again.
Why do I walk there
Almost everyday?
I stroll along the grasses
Thinking
Bearing a horrible pain.
I think of the world around me
And how much they have inspired me.
I start to cry once again.
All my teachers
All my friends,
They have always stood da me,
When things went wrong.
I want a chance to repay them,
To mostra them that...
Their work was useful.
To mostra them that
I am truly thankful.
Why do I have to leave them then
Now?
No, now's not a good time.
But I know it was not intended
That I leave them now.
I want to mostra all those people
That they have been
The change of my life,
That they have made my life so much
Better,
That they were the flames
In the darkness.
