Kate can't shock her ?? i read that in the book but i just realized isn't Kate's shock a physical attack ???

No, Kate's shock is an illusion of being electrocuted, similar to how Jane's is an illusion of torture. A lot of the gifts seem to be mental illusions of physical effects, in order to make Bella immune to them

The self-control is apparently più of a trait she brought along with her, like Edward's speed, Felix and Emmett's strength, Carlisle's compassion etc.

Another theory suggested in the libri is that her control came from the fact she knew she'd be turned, and knew about the newborn bloodthirst
