"Bella?" Esme walked around the corner. "Are te staying for dinner?"
"Oh, um, no thank you." I shook my head. "I have to make cena for Charlie."
"Are te sure?" Carlisle asked.
"Yeah. But thank you." I turned to Alice. "I should get going. Charlie will be home soon."
"Okay. Should I walk with you?" She asked.
"I'll drive her." Edward piped up. "I need to go out anyway." He gave his family a once over.
"Alright, Dear." Esme smiled. "Bella, te come back anytime. te are always welcome here, okay?"
I nodded. "Thank you." I gave them all quick goodbyes and followed Edward out to his car. "Do te know where I live?" I asked when I plopped in after he opened the door.
He looked down at me smirking. "Bella, everyone in Forks knows where te live."
"Right." I sighed and he closed my door. I looked around his Volvo, noticing how clean it looked. It looked like it had never been used. The leather seats were shiny, the carpet spotless, and it smelled like leather, sunshine, and Edward. I sat straight in my sede, sedile when he got in the car and pulled out onto the highway. I couldn't help but notice how fast the trees were going da and I looked at is speed. 85. Woah. "You should put your seatbelt on."
He laughed. "You should put your seatbelt on."
I bit my lip and turned to grab it, clicking it into place. "Your turn." I told him. He looked at me and I raised an eyebrow. He sighed heavly, but grabed it with one hand anad fastened it. He pushed a button on his raido and slow chitarra with Pianoforte filled the car.
"This is beautiful." I told him after a minute. "Who is this?"
"Um, that's actually my family."
I gawked.
"Jasper is on the guitar, Alice and Rose play the violens."
"And the paino?"
"Um, me."
"Seriously?"
"Yeah."
"Wow." I smiled. "Woah, eletric?"
"Emmett." He nodded.
"Of course." I giggled and Edward chuckled.
"Here. I think te may like this one." He changed it and it was più of an upbeat sound. "Emmett of course, jasper on base, Alice singing, me on what drums there are."
"That's Alice?"
He nodded.
"Is there anything te guys can't do?" I asked when the Musica took a sudden darker turn.
He smiled and laughed. "No." But then his face went serious, his eyes were hard, his jaw set. "Bella, I.."
"What?" The Musica changed, making the feeling of the car even più drastic.
"There is just something about you." He told me. "I can't quiet understand. I want to get to know you, but I'm not good for you."
"What do te mean?"
"We shouldn't be friends."
"Is that what we are?" I asked.
He only looked at me, his oro eyes turning black around his iris's and the edge. "I'm just saying, it would be easier."
I could feel my temper flairing just as he stopped the car. "Well, I will just make it easier on te then. Tell Alice I will see her in the morning." And with that, I got out of the car, slamming the door, and stomping my way up to my door and flinging it open. I could hear his tires squeal as he took off and rolled my eyes.
I launched into dinner, making bistecca and potatoes. I wrapped the potatoes in foil and set them in the oven, then I set the bistecca on a egg carton to marinate. I grabbed my giacca off the back of the recliner on my way up to my room. I plopped down on my chair and turned on my old and decreaped computer, to check my email. I had three, all from my Mom.
Write me as soon as te get in. Tell me how your flight was. Is it raining? I miss te already. I'm almost fininshed packing for Flordia, but I can't find my rosa blouse. Do te know where I put it? Phil says hi. -Mom.
The successivo one was sent eight hours after the first one.
Why haven't te email me back? What are te waiting for? -Mom.
The last one was from this morning.
Isabella, if I haven't heard from te da 5:30pm today I'm calling Charlie.
I checked the clock. I still had an hour, but my mom was well known for jumping the gun.
Calm down. I'm Scrivere right now. Don't do anything rash.
I sent that and began again.
Mom, everything is great. Of course it's raining. I was waiting for something to write about. I met some nice kids who live in the old Lockwood Mansion behind Charlie's.
Your camicetta is at the dry cleaners- te were supposed to pick it up Friday.
Charlie bought me a truck. Can te believe it? I Amore it. It's old, but really sturdy which is good, te know, for me.
I miss you, too. I will wright again soon, but I'm not going to check my email every 5 seconds. Relax, breathe. I Amore you.
Bella.
Charlie had bought me an old 1963 Chevey. It's old, rusted, and red, and I absolutly Amore it. It's the loudest thing te will hear in your life.
cena was a quiet affiar. He asked at one point what I did today, and I told him I had walked over with Alice to meet the rest of the Cullens. He commentato "Good people" to which I agreed, but that was the highlight of the conversation. After I washed the dishes-no dishwasher- I told Charlie goodnight and headed upstairs. I grabbed my bag and went to take a shower, using my preferito fragola shampoo and conditioner.
I laid in letto that night for an ora trying to go to sleep. I tossed and turned as the low roar of thunder echoed outside. Finally I pulled the quilt up over my head. That was the first night I dreampt of Edward Cullen.
