Confessions.
“I have to tell them.” I thought “Today’s the day.” Hesitantly I approached my family, hoping my father, Edward, wouldn’t read my thoughts. My father shifted his eyes and met mine, they turned cold and dark and after a few moments, he grimaced. He did it. “I told te not to.” I thought angrily. My mother, Bella, noticed my expression. She looked at us several times and finally asked, “What is it?” No one answered and my father continued to glare at me. “Edward, I demand te tell me.” My father ignored her.
“I can’t believe you’re going to this to us, to yourself.”
“I want to.” Is all I said. My fathers face crumbled into rage.
“You’re not joining the Volturi, I won’t let you.” He scoffed
“You don’t have a choice, dad!” I scoffed the last word.
“I don’t care.”
“Shut up, Edward!”
My mothers expression flickered through several emotions.
First was surprise and as quickly as it came disappeared
into annoyance which was followed da disappointment, pity,
sadness (as if she were about to cry,) and then last but not least, disappointment at themselves this time.
“No, no. I won’t let te either.” My mother gasped. “Does Jacob know about this.”
“Know, KNOW! I’ll have te know, Jacob does know about this, in fact Jacob supports me in everything that I do, and I don’t even Amore him.” A gasp sounded behind me and I was reluctant to turn around and face him. When I did, I saw a mask of pain on Jacob’s face. “ Jacob I – I didn’t mean it. I’m sorry.” I stuttered.
His mouth was opening and closing. He wanted to say something, but no sound came out. Finally he slammed the door behind him.
“ I can’t believe te detto that.” Jacob’s voice broke twice.
“ Take it easy Jake.” Edward eased.
“ NO! No I will not take it easy!” Jacob snapped and shook all over. “Jacob, I detto I was sorry. Is it really a big deal?
“I Amore you, I thought te loved me too. I changed for you. And it was for nothing.”
“It wasn’t for nothing!” I cried “I do have feelings for you, what I just said, I didn’t mean it!”
From his face I could see he wasn’t buying it “SHOOT!” I thought, how could I possibly make it up to him? But before I could answer anything, Jacob just lunged at me. I immediately covered my eyes and waited for the pain to begin. But there was nothing. I allowed myself to look and I saw my father fighting Jacob, I heard shattering glass, howls and barks from Jacob, snarls from deep inside my father’s chest, gasps from my mother and my footsteps to my father’s side. I wasn’t even conscious I was even moving, then the successivo thing I knew, I was snarling and hissing at Jacob. It didn’t feel right fighting him like this.
“Dad, please don’t kill him!” I cried as he held Jacob da the throat. He let go of him. Jacob stumbled back and turned back into human form.
“Jacob… leave. Now!” Edward ordered poisonously and nodded toward the door and Jacob stormed out dramatically. I was about to cry but held the tears back. For I would not cry in front of my parents over a boyfriend. I raced to my room, pushing the door open, hearing the creek it as I slammed it. I locked it and collapsed on my bed. I brought my knees up to my face and wrapped my arms around them, then started sobbing. When I was out of tears and my eyes were sore and my trousers were soaked, I sat up and walked over to the mirror. I was a mess; my hair was frizzy and matted, a ball of urban chaos, my Cioccolato brown eyes were red-rimmed and sore-looking and my cheeks were red and tear stained. I picked up my comb, but put it down again, I didn’t feel like combing my hair today.
I couldn’t remember what giorno it was, I hadn’t slept a wink for what it seemed like a decade. I turned my face to my home-made calendar with pictures of Jacob, my family, the Cullens and me. I swiped for it and tore it off the wall, I felt like shredding it to pieces, so I did. After I had finished, I stuffed the remains in the bin. A quiet knock on the oak door interrupted me in my process.
“Renesmee?” It was Carlisle, his soft voice coaxing. “Oh no! Not Carlisle, he’s innocent!” I thought worriedly. But suddenly I remembered I was safe, the door was locked and I just ignored him.
“Renesmee? Please open the door.” Something in his soothing voice had the strangest effect on me, which made me listen and obey “Thanks, Renesmee.” Carlisle paused, wavering. “I heard what happened with Jacob and the Volturi… I just want to let te know, I support you.” I went to sit down, happily surprised.
“You what? te support me?” I flung my arms around him. “Thank te so much, Carlisle!”
“But before te get into hysterics and start partying, I want to know why.” He asked and I shrugged.
“I don’t know… I just… well… um…” Carlisle broke me off.
“You don’t have a reason, do you, Nessie?” As fond as I was of Carlisle, I hated the nickname ‘Nessie’. I glared at him coldly.
“Don’t call me that!” I snapped, a pint of venom in my sentence.
“Oh, sorry Nes- Renesmee , I didn’t mean to upset you. I just want to know why…”
“Well… I just do! te were with them, te could tell me what it was like, I might change my mind.” Then I added under my breath: “but I know I won’t.” But of course Carlisle heard.
“The Volturi are the closest thing our world we have to-” I interrupted.
“Yes, yes I know that! ‘The Volturi are like the Queen, who kill Vampiri#From Dracula to Buffy... and all creatures of the night in between. who break rules o don’t agree with them. What else?” I asked with impatience.
“Well the Volturi, don’t drink animal blood but human.”
That was new information. “But I still want go.” I wavered, not sounding convincing. All of a sudden, Alice ran in, waving her fists in the air. “You still want to go, after they nearly killed your parents, us and Jacob.” My blood was boiling in my veins. They had been spying on me and Carlisle’s conversation. That was the last straw. I exploded into anger. “I don’t care about Jacob! o my parents. I hate te all, GET OUT!” I pushed Carlisle and Alice out of the room. “You can’t stay in here forever!” Alice snarled. I had never seen Alice like that before. It only made me angrier. “ I’m eighteen, I can do what I like!” I replied.
“No te can’t Nessie!” That was Jacob, how did he get here?
“Just watch me!” and with that I slammed the door in their faces.
A trip to Volterra.
I stuffed the things at hand into my backpack, I wasn’t planning on saying goodbyes, I just plan to jump out the window and make a run for it, and yes I did know that’s ridiculous, though with the help of Emmett and Carlisle, I might just get through.
“Thank te Carlisle, Emmett, will te tell the others?” I asked
“No need, they’ll find out on their own, with Ed’s mind-reading skills.” Emmett concluded. Carlisle gave me the ticket and wished me luck, I knew I’d see them again, with what Edward and Bella get up to I’d see them in no time.
The journey was long, too long. Every moment felt as if Edward o Bella might catch me and take me back, lock me up in a cell, never to see daylight again. Though I was very far from home, I still felt like I wasn’t far enough. I flew over the North Atlantic Ocean to Spain and caught a ferry to Italy. Then it was a two ora tube ride to Volterra. The journey took over two days. I bought a map of Volterra and soon recognized the Vulturi building. I had enough money to stay in a hotel for a week o two. “Hopefully the Vulturi will have accepted me da then. I also have a gift which could get me in, and besides Aro knows me from babyhood, which will give me a good chance of getting on his good side. Eventhough I know Caius wouldn’t like me even if Aro accepts me, but I will still try. It will take a lot to get on Caius’ good side, would it will be even harder to keep herself there, but Marcus is so easy to please, te could just flatter him.” I thought, as I was planning my way into the Volturi. As I was practicing flirting and flattering my phone rang it’s annoying ring tone and detto the incoming call was from Emmett. I picked up the phone, brought it up to my ear. “Hiya Renesmee.”
“Hi Emmett.” I replied. There was a pause and then a whisper as if Emmett were arguing with someone quietly. “No. She doesn’t want t-, All right fine.” Then someone else was on the other end of the phone. “Hello, Nessie.” Jacob detto eerily. I immediately snapped the phone shut. “How dare he call me! How dare he! After all he’s done! I should have let Edward kill him. I should have killed him myself! I should go back and kill him right now.” I thought angrily, wanting to hit something very, very hard. “That’s a bit of an over reaction, don’t te think?” Something very cold was touching my shoulder lightly. I gasped violently and turned to face the figure in the shadows of an old house. The figure was average height and had shiny, straight hair down to their shoulders. They shifted their head from left to right, and then took a step inoltrare, avanti into the sunlight. The figure of the shadows morphed into a familiar person. Someone she had been looking for. “I mean he is your boyfriend.” Aro detto softly. His skin was now sparkling in the sunlight. It wasn’t like a sparkle that her family had, it was fainter and in patches there was just pale white skin. I found myself staring at him, mesmerized. I had to close my eyes to stop.
“H-he was.” I stuttered, angry again.
“It has been a long time young Renesmee. What brings te here to Volterra?” Aro spoke almost as if he already knew. “Well he does stupid. He just read your thoughts! ” My brain told me.
“You already know.” I spoke coolly.
“I know. I just Amore the way your voice sounds. It’s like summer in the middle of winter, like the breeze on a hot, sunny day.” He sang cheerily, putting his hands together. “I just Amore it.”
Feeling the blush appearing on my cheeks, I just looked at him.
“Come with me young one. te must share with me how the Cullens are doing." He then took my hand, asked "may I?" And when I nodded, he kissed it gracefully.
