Chapter two.
When the school lista pointed out that Alex couldn't go back to school shopping with her mom, she was upset. It was sort of a tradition that she and her mom go school shopping every year, and this was the first anno that they didn't. The lista detto specifically "girls who have mugle parent/s are prohibited to bring there them school shopping, as they will not be able to see anything, much less the enterance.". When the letter detto that, Alex quickly figured that she was not going to, like, a Target o something for supplies.
The letter detto to go to the back bacheca behind the Stapels on the corner of Maine strada, via and 7th street. All the bricks are gray, exept for one red brick on the very bottom row. Take that brick out, and put it in a empty hole three up and two over. Tap very other brick around it, and stand back. Two doors should open inward to Malaina ally.
Alex drummed her fingers nervously against her body bag as her mom pulled into the Stapels parcking lot. She had the school supplies list, her wallet, her phone, a note pad, and a pen all stuffed into her small ratto Pack- a francise like Amore Culter, only Ittalian- over the shoulder bag. Her Cioccolato brown hair with natural red highlights was pulled up into a high, neat ponytail, and she was wearing an arancia, arancio tank top, white short-shorts, light blue converse, and her white and blue sunglasses rested on superiore, in alto of her head.
Alexs mom parcked the car and turned around. She smiled warmly at Alex and said, " Well, here we are." Alex looked out the window and sighed.
"Yeah, I suppose." She opened the door and stuck one foot out.
"Im proud of you." Her mom blurted. But she did look proud. Her daughter was a witch! And probably a good one too! How could she not be proud?
Alex blinked, then smiled. " Thanks mom.". She got out of the car. "I'll call te when Im ready to leave. Amore you." with that she slammed the door and waked towards the store.
At first glance, te would probably see a mom dropping her daughter of to go buy school supplies. But if te looked again, te would see the girl slip around behind the store and start looking for a red brick.
Alex placed the red brick in the named spot, and taped very other brick around it. Suddenly, the red brick sunk deeper into the wall, as if pulled da an invisible force. Then the bacheca itself slowly swung inwards reaveling a beautiful ally. It was about the width of three car lanes, with side walks lined with small trees and benches. People who comfortably crowded the ally didn't give a secondo glance to Alex, who stood there awe struck. Finally she remembered to step inoltrare, avanti and go school shopping.
Finally Alex came to a store called 'Olives magic accessories and necessities'. It had a large window on the doors left, and it showed things like several sizes of caldrons, different bottles of potions, ect. When Alex entered, she was surprised to see that it was actually two stories tall instead of just one. Shelves lined the walls and were lined in neat isles across the floor. Alex looked at the first thing on the list, grabbed a basket, and set to work.
Feather quills.
There was two whole shelfs detecated to rows of feather quills. Each quill was floating an inch above the actual shelf, and they were lined in neat rows according to color and pattern. Each feather was 25 cents, the same as a pacge of pencils. Some were long and slim, some were eagle feathers, some were hawk feathers, some were oca feathers, some were corvo o raven feathers, ect. Alex decided on three cigno feathers that were ten inches long, pure white except for three inches of black on the very end, one seven inch long raven feather, and a eight inch long eagle feather.
'Okay, feather quills, check! Now what's next......leather notebooks? Ummmmm, okay, sure.' Alex placed the fear hers in the basket and looked around for leather notebooks. She found them lined up neatly on a shelf. They were old fashioned, with lined paper invisibly glued in to brown leather covers. Some were old and faded, some were new looking and shiny, some had straps to properly close them, some had little paper slots in the front to put your name in and class. Alex ended up buying five new-looking notebooks with straps and slots.
Seven ink bottles, two test bottles, one bronze collapsible telescope, one miniature pewter caldron, one small scale, and three sets of potion ingredients later, Alex left the store, carrying two large blue-green bags in the crook of one arm and the lista in the other hand. She looked around the strada, via and took a deep breath, glad to be out of that store that seemed to get smaller with the più stuff te got. She glanced down at the last thing she needed. An animal for spells class. Either a toad, cat, o owl.
'Do I want a cat? o do I want an owl? Cat o owl, cat o owl?' Alex mentally debated as she walked down the strada, via for an animal store. She liked Gatti better, but if she ever needed to send someone a message, she would need an owl. Finally, after five minuti of mental debating, she decided on a cat. 'If I need to send someone a message, I'll use one of the schools owls.'. When she walked into the store, Alex had to pause for a moment to let her eyes get used to the darkness. When she did, she saw, cages lined up in neat rows on the floor. The cages were like large oro canary cages, but were square. Some had owls, some had bats, some even had different sized and colored gecko's! Near the back wall, there was a closed off section surrounded da a four foot tall safety fence. Inside were all there cats. Some were still suckling, were as some were as old as Alex, in cat years anyway. The lista did say get an animal that's not just out of need of there mother, but not an old one. So...... In-between. But what age is in-between?
"Hello there young miss." A tall, frail man came up to her. He had balding brown hair, green eyes, and looked to be about fifty-something. "Seems te have a liking to our Gatti here."
"Yeah, but my school lista says not to young, not to old, in-between. What age is in-between?" Alex showed him her lista and he nodded like he got this domanda a lot.
"Well, I would say it's about six months to three years. Depends on what level your starting at. For a beginner, I recommend six months to two years." and then he turned around to help some old pudgy lady with how much a geco, gecko was. She bit her lip and stared at the cats. Each one had a collare on, and a little tag saying there gender, breed, age and price. Alex picked up a large white fluffy one. He was a little two expensive for her, so she put him back down. Then on other one caught her eye. He was lithe and all black, except for his front left paw was white. He looked pretty young and healthy. Alex picked him up and examined his collar. She skipped the breed since she really didn't care, but she liked the age and price, so she hoped she liked the cat. She turned him so he faced her, and stared him in the eye. He looked back sort of lazily, but attentive. Alex like this cat. She turned and was about to take a step to the check out when the man she talked to appeared in front of her.
"Like him, huh? Good choice. He's calm and quiet, but he likes to play once in a while and he's very friendly." He nodded.
"Um, yeah, I'll take him." Alex handed him the cat. He nodded, took the cat, and waltzed over to the counter. He fidgeted with something, but when he turned around the cat was in a small, gold, square cage. Alex paid and left the shop.
Once she was out and adjusted to the light, Alex realized that she didn't know how to get back. The lista only detto how to get here, not how to get back. She walked to the place were she first came in, and found a large brick bacheca with one red brick in the center. Relief flooded through her, and Alex tapped every other brick, stepping back as the door swung open. As soon as she was outside, she put down the bags and dialed her moms number.
Thanks!!!! Hope te like it because it took me forever to write!!!!!!!! ;)

What do te want in life?,
That's a good domanda I've been asking since God knows when,
I'm a teenager,proudly
Being a teenager isn't that bad, believe me
It isn't like Natale in for many years again...7 years,
7 good years,
Imagine...,
It takes the grace of God not to do anything rash that te would regret for the rest if your life.
Thinking,
Asking yourself the same question,#"How could I've been so stupid?"
Stupid? that doesn't qualify it,
Its più like a gigantic fool,
Sorry the bible told me not to use that word on humans,
I guess stupid would do then,
But I'm happy not to be stupid then'
Like I detto it takes the grace of God,
What do I want in life?,
To be able to "dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord and to en-quire in His temple"- Psalm 27:4
