First person versus third person? It doesn't really make a difference to me. You can do more with third person, but first person is really just third person person limited, except told from the main character's point of view. All in all, it really makes no difference to me.

yah, what im asking is.. what is more interesting to you.. reading what the main character is saying and doing, or some one telling you that whoever did this and that ......??

I've read a few like this, and they're pretty compelling. It's hard to maintain over the course of a novel, though, so it has to be written really well.

I"m all about the emotive, the personal aspect to the story. THOUGH many of the greats are third person based...

I find that is much easier, and you can say what your a think at moments.

it's easier to write this way since you can write out your thoughts. And when you're reading from their point of view, it's easier to understan where they're coming from and what's going on.

For example, if Harry Potter was written in first person, it just wouldn't work. If Slopping Firsts wasn't written in a first person journal format, it wouldn't work either. It depends on the book, the protagonist, and the author.

I like books like 'Beyond the Western Sea' series. It shows different people's point of view.

I prefer to read books in third person (Books with a narrator), rather than books in first person (told in "I" format, as I call it.) I have never seen a book told in second person, and would probably find it very difficult to understand. Still, the most interesting besides narrators would be first person/third person. (ex: The Bartimeus Trilogy)

I tend to prefer third person perspective, but it all depends on the book. I like Sherlock Holmes in first person, but most modern novels in the same perspective usually only annoy me. Especially if the main character is a narrow-minded, whiny female.
I've never read anything in second person, so I am interested in trying that.

To me it depends on the people and the kind of story you want to tell.

but different views are good to read sometimes but most of the stories i read are mainly were the main character is leading the whole time;This one story i read was told were you are seeing what the killers seeing but its being told through the victims view

It doesn't really matter to me. If I like the plot and the style of writing then it doesn't make a difference. That said, lots of my favourite books are in the first person.

I read only 3rd person really

1st person actually makes me feel like I'M the main character ( not the male ones). I rarely read any other perspective or I get bored...

Well if the lead is a girl, I'd go with first person but a boy, totally narator!

It can get totally confusing with the third person(or whatever one it is when the narrator is writing from their view). I think it's more old fashioned too, if i'm honest.

It depends on the plot, goal, and the main characters. It also depends on how you want to portray each character's thoughts to the reader.

I think first person narratives tend to get a bad rep at least in the fanfiction community, because that is the style a lot of inexperienced 12 year olds prefer to third person, so they're more likely to be incoherent and have a lot of spelling mistakes, grammatical errors, etc... However, when done correctly, writing from the first person gives a lot more space for creativity and it can be a ton more interesting to read. Take Chuck Palahniuk's books for example. He almost always writes in the first person, and since his protagonist is always 50 shades of disturbed, this translates REALLY well.
