I opened my eyes to find myself looking at the face of a beautiful woman.
“Are te an angel?” I asked. She laughed.
“No sweet child. I am Hypolita, Queen of the Amazons” she smiled
“Are te sure I’m not dead?” I asked
“No. We found te out in the water, alone. te were unconscious and sopping wet” she explained
“Where am I?” I asked, sitting up
“You are on Themyscira, home of the Amazons” Hypolita said. She was wearing a simple white dress with some simple Greek style sandals. Her blonde hair was up in a high pony. I got up and spread my wings. They were soaking wet. I flicked them out a couple times to get as much water off as I could.
“Are te able to walk?” Hypolita asked
“Yes. I think” I took a couple steps. It felt good to be up on my feet again.
“Do te wish to change? Your clothes are soaking” she pointed out
“I would, but I brought no clothes” I said
“That is not an issue. It would be my pleasure to help a maiden in need” she smiled. She whistled and two cavalli cantered over. Hypolita hoped on one.
“Um, your highness? How do I ride a horse?” I asked, jumping on its back.
“You hold on” She smiled “YA!” she raced away. My horse followed without warning. I held onto its neck for dear life. It started to catch up Hypolita.
“Where are we going?” I called
“To the training area where we practice archery, discus throwing, swordplay, javelin, weaving and much more” she called back. My locket and mace both banged against me as the horse thundered through this paradise. Once we arrived at the training area and I changed, I decided to watch some of the sports they held. I found somewhere where I could watch unseen. A couple of the girls were practicing archery, while a couple others were getting ready for a chariot race. They got in their chariots and were off. Each chariot held two girls. One was steering while the other defended and attacked. The two girls in the blue chariot were smaller, which gave them più aerodynamics, but the girls in the white chariot were più skilled racers, but were bigger so they fought against the wind.
“Blue is going to win” I muttered. A couple minuti later, blue crossed the finish first.
“Nice call” detto a voice behind me. I turned to find Hypolita standing there.
“How’d te know who was going to win?” she asked
“The blue charioteers are smaller, so the cavalli didn’t have to pull as much mass, plus they had aerodynamics on their side” I added
“How would te like to learn how to ride?” Hypolita offered
“Sure! Sounds fun!” I agreed
