American anime. Is it coming?

Like the domanda said, is it coming?

As I see it, the herald of its coming is "Avatar: the Last Airbender" and the sequel series "The Legend of Korra"

As I see it, Avatar was blatantly anime, though of an American style. From its plot, to characters, to its themes, and even the way they made it, when the ending already pre-determined, everything was distinctly anime.

Then there comes the sequel SERIES "The Legend of Korra" which breaks all the rules of American TV and Movies.

1. Like Avatar, the ending is already pre-determined and will last for 26 episodes (hmm I wonder what other series also usually last for 26 episodes? *wink wink*)

2. Its not new seasons, but a new season (a big no, no)

3. (and this one if the biggest rule breaker) It does not contain the original characters (*GASP* THE HORROR!) and it truly an entirely new series.

So could we start seeing more? Hopefully, but American Anime will face some hurdles.

1. Anime is generally looked down upon in the US (probably why there is no allusion to Avatar being considered an Anime da its creators)

2. Non-life action shows/movies are not taken seriously in the US. In fact, the Oscars' category of "Best Animated Feature" shows how prejudice American culture is towards those genres (implying they aren't even considered for "Best Film"

3. The "single-run" format it uses. That is it runs for a pre-determined length and then stops. This means that the companies can't latte the series to death. And they will have to get a new series each time (the horror!)

4. Anime is just so radically different from EVERYTHING. The più and più I have watched the anime, the più and più I understand this. And it will require radically new thinking da the American TV companies

Tell me what te think? What are some signs that American Anime might come and what struggles it might face?

I hope to turn this into an essay and post it on my blog.

Anime is just the Japanese versions of cartoni animati so even if America did 'Anime' it would still class as cartoni animati because of this.

If America did do 'Anime', and does it well, then I actually start watching TV more.

About Point 3 though they could just te know:
Make games of the 'anime', like they do with cartoni animati already.
Make a sequel/prequel of an 'anime'
Make Novels o comics of the 'anime', like they do with cartoni animati already.
No matter the series is its viable to make a profit they will likely create più merchandise.

I Amore Avatar The Last Airbender, an although its was written da American authors the actual animazione was done da Korean artists. I really like the collaboration. Afro Samurai was done in collaboration with Japanese artists. I would Amore to see più like these :)

Yes! Hopefully it will come. It would be so nice to see some più cartoni animati drawn really detailed like Avatar instead of seeing mostly shit all the time.

I don't think American Anime will ever exist. After all, I live in America and I can say that I proudly hate my nation's cartoons. I prefer Japan's much better, and I think that Giappone will always make better cartoni animati and animes than anyone else can even come close to.

It has already came. Like te detto ATLA and LOK are blatantly animes but they did not originate in Japan. Other countries make animes as well because Japanese animazione had such a global impact on the world.

So I will expect to see many più non-Japanese animazione based off of Anime in the future because of this trend. And I personally look inoltrare, avanti to it.

Unlike many of my fellow Anime fans. If I like something it doesn't matter what country of origin it came from but this is my take on this.

I highly doubt it. Avavtar is cute but far from being Anime. I'm perfectly okay with Anime being in Japan.
