Umineko vs. Higurashi

It seems that a lot of people like Higurashi più than Umineko.
I just wonder why? I mean in Umineko are witches, magic farfalle and it´s più mysterious.

The reason why I picked Umineko was because of Beatrice. Her ccraziness makes the mostra più enjoyable. I don't really like the plot tho.
