The story begins with AJ walking around Sweet mela, apple Acres looking for something to do after a hard day's work. Alas, she couldn't find one thing fun to do, so she heads to to town to see if there is anything going on there, when suddenly...

Princess Luna: *pulls up in a monster truck in front of AJ* What's up? Doth this town not pleaseth thee?

AJ: Actually, it doesn't.

Luna: *talks normal* What? te serious? If nothing here makes te happy, enter the Ponyville Monster Truck Race! It's gonna be awesome! I made my sister accompany me. te have to let someone ride with you. That's the rules. Gotta have a monster truck, too.

Celestia: te ever heard of driving lessons!? te almost got us killed!

Luna: Well, Tia, buckle up and I'll drive REAL smoothly...*takes off doing a wheelie*

AJ: That's exciting! I better find a partner, and fast! Who's gonna build me a monster truck?

Luna: *returns* Tia will. She's great at it. C'mon Tia, step out!

Celestia: Whatever...*falls to the ground* HEY! te forgot to put up the ladder!!

Luna: Ooops, my bad. I'll be back soon!

After describing her ideal monster truck to Celestia, AJ gets what she described. A pickup truck-type monster truck, which she names "The mela, apple Crusher". After being dato a manual on how to drive, she goes around town looking for a partner.

First: Pinkie's house!


AJ: Pinkie, get out here! I gotta mostra te somethin'!

Pinkie: *goes outside and runs into AJ's monster truck tires* Hi-Ouch! What is this giant thing?

AJ: Them's called monster trucks. Big race coming up, and I need a passenger. te in? te are allowed to throw things at other people to win!

Rainbow: *comes out of nowhere* Really? A race that allows te to do what it takes to win!? And...Whoa...With that!? Sorry, I prefer small size and speed! Catch te later!

AJ drives off upset. Two ponies already turned her down. Maybe Fluttershy is interested....

Fluttershy: Sorry....Your monster truck kinda scares me.....Maybe some other time?

What would Rarity say to this?

Rarity: No, darling. Those kinds of races are dirty, and mud will fly everywhere. I can't do it, sorry.

Twilight: I don't do things like that. They're dangerous. I don't get involved in stuff that risks te getting hurt.


Bummed, she heads for Blazin's house, where he is now living with Sapphire Scorch, his girlfriend.

Blazin': I'm coming...WHOA!

AJ: Big race, monster trucks, partner, now!

Blazin': I don't know...

AJ: *looks at him cutely* Pwease?

Sapphire: Sounds cool-

Blazin': Shotgun!

Sapphire: Rock, paper, scissors for it, using magic, of course! Best two out of three! *loses both times* DANG IT!!

Blazin':You got yourself a partner! And check out what I can add to it! *gets in passenger sede, sedile makes blue and white flames shoot out the exhaust* te got boost!

AJ: Thanks for the upgrade. Let's go!!

The race begins, with Luna and Tia in first place, and AJ and Blazin' in third da the third lap.

Blazin': Items are allowed, right?

AJ: te betcha!

Blazin': Sweet! *makes a bomb appear and hangs out window and throws it ahead, taking out 2nd place (Lyra and Bon Bon).

They boost to catch up to Luna and Tia, who are doing everything they can to stay in first.

AJ: We can't catch them! Their speed is the highest among anyone else's!

Blazin': Not for long...*makes the blue shell from Mario Kart appear in his hoof*

AJ: Dude! How they fieno did te do that?

Blazin': Magic, te silly filly! fuoco in the hole!! *throws blue shell, which flies at a unmatched speed at Luna and Tia*

Luna: What? IS THAT A BLUE SHELL FROM MARIO KART!? HOW'D HE DO THAT!?

Tia: Magic, te silly filly!


Luna: I don't care!! I'm gonna make this thing go faster!!

Blazin': Uh uh! The blue shell will always catch you....

Luna: ...no matter how fast te are o are going! Wahhh *BLAM!*

AJ: Yeah, first place! Those three laps were tough! Crazy item throwing though.

Blazin': What is this, Mario Kart?

Luna: te inspired us to do a race like that, Blazin'.

Blazin': Aw darn it!

AJ: Hey, we got the first place trophy.

Celestia: We got secondo place! That's good! We got a trophy for it, too.

Luna: Lucky break! Pure luck! We almost had you! *lies on her stomach and pounds the ground with her hooves while crying*

Celestia: Oh, geez....I'll be going now. Time to calm her down. I'M driving this time!

Luna: My truck got blasted!

Celestia: Fixed! Now get in the passenger's sede, sedile and shut up! See te later!

Luna: I'll beat te someday, Blazin'!

Blazin' gets taken home, but before he can get out, AJ has a short talk with him.

AJ: I just wanted to say thanks, for being with me in the race. I never would have beaten Luna and Tia without you.

Blazin': No problem. She and I are big racing rivals!

AJ gives him a quick hug before he hops out and goes inside.

Sapphire: How'd it go?

Blazin': AWESOME! Ask to ride with her sometime!
