Chapter 6:

An Old Enemy, a New Ally

Though Ashtaroth and I went back and forth on for quite a while, I finally gave in to going to sleep and continuing in the morning. It would have been nearly pitch black if I couldn't see in the dark. I sat with my back against the brick bacheca of the alley staring up at the stars. The milky white outline of the Moon stood out completely against the murky ink-black sky. It was a thin crescent moon, as thin as thread. I was up so late that I had actually watched the moon as it traveled across the sky. The air was cold and crisp and every time te breathed frost...

It was the final school day. The students of senior class were impatiently waiting for the campana, bell to announce the beginning of the vacation. Cam glanced his watch every five secondi en Sophia impatiently tapped her fingers on the table
And than…rrrrriiiiinnnnnggggg!!!
The students jumped up and ran outside, to the vacation. Cam, Sophie, Lucas, Sarah, Andy and Haley were sitting on a bacheca outside the school gate. They were planning their vacation.
“So, everything’s arranged for our city trip?” Andy asked.
“Yep, there’s no way back now” Lucas said.
“I still don’t get what’s so exciting...

Apologies and captives…

“Ahhhhhhh….” he screamed. “Hey,” I detto “I never caught your name.” “It’s Aundre!” He called up to me. “What’s your name?” “It’s Ashtaroth.” I said. Just then we made a steep dip, Aundre screamed. “Calm down and be quiet!!” I detto forcefully. “I’m afraid of heights!” he yelled “What!?!” I detto “You begged and begged me to let te come and now te tell me you’re afraid of heights!” “What!?! te kidnapped me! ” He cried out furiously “Why did te make me come anyway?!?” He screamed. I thought quickly “In the...

It’s hot. Ata’s environmental controls are shot. Until we reach another backwater planet, our only way to prevent freezing in spazio is to vent the exhaust heat through the air duct filters manually. I didn’t realize just how hot these engines can get. Lucy warned them that my human physiology would only permit certain temperatures, but this is our only option. I never thought I could go through this much water in one day. It’s like the più I drink, the faster it comes out.
“How much longer ‘til we reach a repair dock?” I asked for the ninetieth time....

Chapter 1:

Falling Stars

I want te to name me a place, a place where the mention of your little sister's name strikes fear into the hearts of your enemies. Name a place where your best friend threatens to break your arm if te tell anyone what he's hiding, a place where a king plans a war against his own daughter. Give me a place where magic exists; a place where te don't know who to trust. mostra me a place where the Stars walk amongst the Mortals; the place where people will do anything to get what they want. Welcome to my world. Welcome, to Imbroglio.

As the titolo ever so clearly states, I...

 Claire
Claire
Myth, fantasy, hallucination: my story has been called all these things. I know that when te read this te will be shocked, awed, and terrified. Just remember, my story is true, fact, and based on real events…
“Claire,” my mother yelled, practically in my ear, “We need to leave for your therapy session o we will be late, again!” I rolled my eyes like I always do. Mother never thought much of these “stories.” She told my they were just that, just stories.
Anyway, back to my story. Well, let me start from the beginning.
    “Left,...

Have te ever had days where all te want to hear is the classics your mother used to listen to on 45s? Ballroom is great in those quiet lonely moments. I had some saved in Lucy’s memory. She was actually the one who wanted to keep them.
“It’s wasted spazio Luce,” I argued. “We could probably get più use out of current maps than some stupid music.”
As usual, she was right when she said, “You’ll need them later.” So that was that. She knew I wouldn’t go behind her and do it anyway.
So here I lay, on a rafter in her hangar, listening to I’ll Never Smile Again, letting my...

It was nine o’ clock in the evening. Lucas got in his car and started the engines. The moment he drove away, another car started driving. Lucas didn’t notice anything of it, until his pursuer hit his bumper. He pressed his gas pedal and raced forward. His pursuer did the same thing. Lucas watched his rear view mirror and recognized Alex’ face. He turned the wheel around, so he drove in the opposite direction. Alex betted the chase and the tires shrieked on the street. They raced for about half an hour, until Alex forced Lucas to drive in some God forgotten place. They both got out of...
