The ending of Angel is puzzling to me. Did they walk into certain death? Did the mostra intend for them all to die in the end, o was there a chance? And, if there was, wouldn't they have showed it? Does Angel die, o aren't we supposed to know?

And, if we're supposed to guess than how is that a real ending?

It wasn't really an ending, it was the beginning of something powerful (if te consider the ats comics which are amazing). I do Amore how they ended Angel though, it felt so good to see that scene and his last words, well I think it summed it up. 'Let's get to work!'. He'd just keep on fighting.

I think it was meant to be an open ending and we were meant to interpret it. Myself I couldn't decide between optimistically hoping for some miracle, and admitting it was meant to be a kill-everyone-off finale. But then the Angel:After The Fall comics say that Angel, Spike, Illyria and even Gunn survive.
