When night falls in a maximalist home 🌙 Embroidery 🌺 Dreamcatchers ✨ Updates 🌌
Hey everyone! So yesterday I finally finished my huge 3 needlework project! YAY! I started my big room decor changes in early spring, during the work with needleworks ( as we know they are really time and work consuming) I also radically changed the look of my above-bed wall, first of all the dreamcathcers that previously were hanging on my music corner wall had to move to another wall, so there would be free space for my new needleworks. So severe colorfullness caused by all those dreamcatchers didn\'t match minimalistic quotes in frames and suddenly the old movie quotes on the rope started to seem a bit meaningless and uninteresting. It was time to get rid of all those remains of my unsuccessful trying to become a bit of minimalist, I didn\'t want to put my own drawings in those 4 frames so I printed out some coloring sheets and colored them with gel ink pens (I know it also seemed like a ridiculous idea for me at first, but have to admit in the end they look pretty good), as we know artworks are every maximalist\'s passion, so for my rope I ordered miniature copies of famous artworks - Mona Lisa, some Vincent Van Gogh, Salvador Dali\'s famous melting clocks, Renoir ("Amelie" reference, actually the biggest reason why I wanted to change my movie pictures to something else is that I think my favorites have changed a bit, I still love those movies but there are so many other ones I\'m obsessed with now, but I just couldn\'t completely get rid of something I can relate to that much). Also as you can see my walls are filled with different little things like toy mice (stolen from Princess), plaques with quotes (one of them was a gift from a wonderful friend - sweetie if you are reading this, thank you one more time for all of your amazing and heartwarming gifts and simply for all the joy you bring - and I recently found other ones in local charity shop), soft toy Frankenstein and Dracula (actually I think I should try to get rid of too many childish things as they tend to become annoying, but those two monsters will probably never leave my wall), also dreamcatchers of course, I never feel like I have enough them - I still need more, different kinds, sizes, styles, colors - The only struggle is lack of free space. Actually I don\'t see a point in sharing pictures of things I have bought, in my opinion everyone can go shopping, handmade things are more interesting, but here you can also see some decorations I found in shops and fell in love with - bronze/rosegold metal feathers with bells - disco ball and little shiny things hanging under the lamp, I love the atmosphere they create when lamps are turned on or especially when the bigger disco ball catches some rays of sunset in he window and reflects them all around the room, then I turn the ball so it starts to rotate and simply enjoy the amazing beauty of little light reflections dancing on walls and furniture, It truly looks amazing, sadly I haven\'t taken any good photos I could share with you. Speaking about lights - you can see my DIY light jar - I painted the glass with permanent markers, glued some yellow ribbon to it, put white lace and led candle inside. I took photos from different sides so you can see drawings. It was difficult to show you what it looks like at night with light inside so I went to the bathroom (the only dark place in my sunny apartment) and took a picture. Actually if you have ever tried to take a photo of a glass frame with something dark inside you know that the only thing you get is a reflection of your room and yourself with a camera, so I took about 100 of pictures after the frames with needleworks were hung up, trying to make them normally visible, finally I took good pictures, in the dark room (at 11 p.m.), laying on the floor and zooming the wall with my camera with flashlights on... Here you can see my 3 projects - cat sleeping on the moon, lamps with snowflakes and city that looks Arabic. They all have the same nighttime atmosphere and cat and lamps are made using special glow-in-the-dark thread (DMC E940). I would say my redecorating is finished, but not completely. I always find something to change and now I\'m planning to change some of my oldest dreamchatchers to new ones (and try different, interesting web styles when making them). To be honest, with my creativity and inspiration attacks and all those millions of ideas floating around, I can say that my decorations aren\'t finished and they will never be, there will always be some processes of transformation going on in my room and I\'ll never be completely satisfied. So I\'m sure in a few months there will be a sequel to this article, Anyway, here are all the things I just talked about, take a look. And finally I can say that I\'m feeling my best now, when I\'m surrounded by results of my inspiration and self expression.
