Brittany Spaniels Domanda

ciao everyone, Im looking at geting a Brittany but im a little worried about the whole hunting thing. I have been told that they are natural Hunters. We don't hunt and we have Gatti and rabbits so would getting one be a bad move?

If I brought the cucciolo up around small animals, do te think that might help, o are they instinctive hunters? Thanks for helping :)

I personally have never owned a Brittany, but I have experience in dog training. Really, it all depends on the individual dog. Some Cani are più likely to chase after cats, rabbits, etc than others. Temperament testing the cucciolo before deciding to buy it may be a good idea so te can have an idea about it's personality. If te bring up the cucciolo around those animals, it would be very likely that te could train your dog not to chase the animals. Almost all behavior problems are through improper training, not enough exercise, etc. These "behavior problems" are only problems in our eyes and are completely natural to the dog. Through training, te can let your cucciolo know what behavior is accepted and what isn't. It is completely possible to own a Brittany that would not chase after the Gatti and rabbits, but it may take training and patience. Starting with a cucciolo is the best idea. Brittany's are a very active breed, so I would make sure it has plenty of exercise!!!

A lot of it has to do with how te train the dog and the over all personnality of that dog. I had a Brittany and it never went after our cat o other cats. te do have to remember that they are hunting Cani da nature and will still most likely go after rabbits, squirrels, chipmunks, ect.
As far as bringing it around other small animali as a puppy. I would probably help a little, but like I said, it will probably still go after animali such as squirrels and rabbits and blah blah blah.
