I'm not sure how or if this is going to go over but I've seen this idea floting about so I thought I would bring it up and see how it goes.

Alot of the Buffy spots are low when it comes to rating content and thusly I feel that some people aren't being rewarded for their efforts. I'm not talking about medals or props but you always (at least I do) get a smile at seeing our content rated.

I'd like to propose that we come up with something like some of the other spots have and do a ratings day or something like that. For instance, we have about 32 articles posted and most of them have only been rated by a handfull of people.

I am not saying that we should go and just give everything a five or something, still rate it justly while keeping in mind crediting, keywording and the like, but what does everything think of starting a rating day every week or month or something?

I know that adwbuffy and spikes_girl load a ton of content for example and yet things sit there forever without being rated (though they are viewed). The Buffy relationship spot has a ton of unrated stuff and I shudder to think of the smallish Buffy spots.

So, anybody in for a ratings day or something? We could come up with a cool title or something.

Sounds like a plan to me! I hate seeing things unrated when they've had so many view, is just not right and its not fair!

definitely! i would love to see more of my content rated, and i would be glad to rate other people's content as well!

Meaning that people should have the consideration of rating of my content. It's not showing any respect to me or the spot itself. I put all my ideas in one single article. See this what Fanpop is all about, rating other peoples content on what they made on their favorite shows.

Mean come on where is respectful fans on fanpop,not being mean but its not nice or fair on the spot.

Great! I'm so happy people agree with me on this. I think I'm going to start with icons or something imagey today while I watch Scrubs. If everyone wants we can kind of keep track of what we rated and maybe after this spot is groovy (just wanted to use that word today) we can branch out to some of the Buffy sister sites - or DAWNS as we should call them.

I saw that there was a bunch of responsed to this in my mail and I was all - this might not be good, but I am very pleased. :F

I just did the first 80 pages of photos! I did the math and I went from having 2942 ratings to 4051, so I rated 1109 photos and found about 10 that I just had to my favorites and I gave out a prop for some outstanding finds.

I really think this is going to encourage more adding, better keywording/crediting/descriptions and help out those who should have a medal but don't.

Also on other spots like Spuffy,Xena Warrior Princess(if you ever this show) no ratings been sitting there for a week now.

I can do anything Buffy related Ariel but I don't know anything about Xena.

ok im trying to do rating on this spot but in videos its constant couple vids and it annoys me becasue we have speacialised spots for them, its like overload (and this is coming from me) bagnel videos! then some poepl dont even keyword you can tell then have just go onto youtube and pick about 10 vids or summit copied the vienue and made upa title for it!
sorry i just really needed to vent about it!! lol

I'm on the same boat as you mckena. I tend to put vids in a few spots (Buffy, relationships and the corresponding ship) but I always do a description, crediting, and keywording. My main problem is when somebody adds 10 vids or so one right after the other without anyting in the description or whatnot. I have added a bunch of my favorites at once but always give descriptions, it's simply those who just upload anything that seems to be the problem.

I just went through a ton of photos and it's amazing how many have no keywording, wrong titles, and no credit. It simply makes you appericate people who do screen their content and keyword correctly. I did a bunch of pages and Nose and Angie (those were the two who I mainly spotted this time through) are fantastic with keywording. Just makes me appericate them more.

i'm sorry that i don't always put descriptions in the videos that i add, i always do if there's a special story line or something, and when i post interviews, but otherwise i just don't really see anything to say. but i always put in the right keywording, cuz i agree it's annoying of people don't. it doesn't take that much time!

Cat, I haven't come across anything of yours that has annoyed me! It's those people who don't keyword, don't credit and don't even really title that grind my gears.

See on Fanpop its about "Respect". Everyone whose on Fanpop needs to respect other people's work. Its very important, I realize that now,Debs got me going to keyboard,Image Credit, any thing you got from any site.Cuz thats considering stealing. Thanks for Debs, to save me on Fanpop,I almost got deleted on the spot for not keyboarding anything. Debs is my Hero, for giving huge tips on the Fanpop.

See I understand what ArabellaElfie*Katie,spikes_girl*Cat, and mckena are saying about the keyboarding that its strictly to put a credit on any picture,Video and Links also.

Just did another 2100. I've offically been through all the photos! My ratings have gone up to over 6000 and I started with something like 2000 when I began this.

I know when I first joined fanpop and was adding pictures I didn't really use keywords very well or credited very well either. But how can someone use absolutely no keywords at all, for anything they put up!?!?! Its really starting to do my head in!

I was completely guilty of keywording/crediting issues when I started too, it was just recently that I've become all 'hhmmmm, this says Spike but it's of Angel. Not funny'

Glad I'm not the only one who has developed this annoyance LOL. I think my pedantic-ness makes me more annoyed about it especially when it happens over and over!
